Creating your character

Starting Level & Feats All characters begin at 1st level. Every character gains a free feat at level 1. (Variant Human and Custom Lineage are banned.) Ability Score Generation You have two options for generating your stats: Rolling for Stats Use Avrae in the Discord lobby’s stats roll section by typing: !randchar (Avrae dump zone). You may make three separate full rolls and choose one of them. If none of your rolls are satisfactory, you may use the Modified Point Buy System instead. Modified Point Buy System You may purchase ability scores up to 16 (using standard additional point costs). You start with 31 points instead of the standard 27. Ability Score Increases (ASI) & Feats When your character reaches an ASI level, you gain both an ASI and a feat (instead of choosing between the two). Races & Classes All official races and classes are allowed. Certain games may have specific restrictions, which will be stated beforehand. Backgrounds & Roleplay Integration Backgrounds can be as simple or complex as you like. The more you integrate your character into the world, the more rewards and opportunities you may receive. Third-Party Homebrew Third-party homebrew is allowed, but it must be relevant and appropriate to the campaign. Let’s discuss before adding anything. Homebrew & Table Rules Romance & Fade-to-Black Policy Romance is allowed in the game, but it must stay within PG-13 guidelines. If a scene escalates beyond that threshold, it will fade to black, and the details will not be roleplayed or narrated. Respect for all players’ comfort levels is the priority, and if any concerns arise, they should be communicated respectfully. General Table Rules Build an Individual, Play as a Team – Design your character the way you want. However, this is a cooperative game—consider how your choices fit into the group dynamic. Respect the GM & Other Players – Every GM runs their game differently; be mindful and respectful of the house rules. Modified Inspiration Rules Start each session with Inspiration. You can give Inspiration to another player who attempted something cool but failed a roll. (This must involve creativity, such as a unique ability use, a dramatic speech, or a heroic moment.) You can bank Inspiration up to your Proficiency Bonus per day. At the end of each session, you lose one banked Inspiration. These rules are designed to encourage heroic storytelling, creative gameplay, and a balanced yet flexible system that allows for both character individuality and teamwork.

You don’t need to be a professional actor, but getting into character, reacting to the story, and being involved in roleplay makes the game better for everyone. 🖥️ A Computer with Internet Access The game runs on Foundry VTT, which requires a stable internet connection and a computer that can access the platform. Make sure you can run the VTT smoothly before the session to avoid technical difficulties. 🎧 A Discord Account Communication and coordination happen through Discord. Ensure you have a working account, can join the game’s server, and are familiar with voice chat settings. 📝 A Player Concept Before joining the game, think about what kind of character you want to play. If a particular source is missing, I do my best to acquire needed materials, though I can usually only pick up one or two books at a time. Full Access to Foundry VTT The game runs on Foundry VTT, enhanced with numerous features to bring the world to life. Expect animated maps, immersive effects, and custom integrations designed to make your experience as dynamic and engaging as possible. I provide free access to the VTT—players don’t need to purchase anything to participate. Heroic, Narrative-Driven Playstyle This is a heroic destiny campaign where the focus is on storytelling and the journey, rather than strict adherence to the rules. This is a Rule of Cool game—if it makes the story more exciting, we find a way to make it happen. Creativity is encouraged, and anything is possible within the bounds of the narrative. Player Rewards & Custom Token Art Once you’ve been part of the game for at least a month, we’ll check in to ensure you’re enjoying the campaign and that your character fits well within the group. If everything aligns, I’ll commission custom token art for your character, crafted by an artist to match your unique vision. Immersive Atmosphere I strive to create an engaging world with background music provided through Syrinscape, adding an extra layer of depth to each session. While I’m not a professional voice actor, I do have a range of character voices to help bring NPCs to life.
