About me
Hi everyone! I am a DM with four years of experience doing the popular DnD 5e in person and online! I also have experience in many other ttrpgs, so you'll just have to ask if I know your favorites. The last couple years I have found a greater love of 'play by text' and boy is it fun! It is especially good for those that have a busy schedule but still want to play. Wilfinja is a tremendous GM! What initially drew me to their game is the idea that combat will be fairly challenging. I've gotten tired of fights you can ease through with minimal effort. That is not Wilfinja. You will absolutely be challenged and forced to work as a team so you all make it out alive! His game wasn't solely about mechanics though. He had an immersive atmosphere with interesting plot points laid out. I was thoroughly engaged during my time with him and I highly recommend giving him a try!

Spencer was great at setting up our PBP group. He was inclusive and very active. He was motivating and very creative with character creation options. He helped us understand and use the Avrae bot that does all the math. Spencer was great about tailoring the session to the level of the party and was equal in activity with our most active players which is rare in PBP. Totally recommend!

Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will start at level 5 and will need to be approved by me. Due to the looseness of the medium in which I use, I will set a date at which everyone will need to have their characters complete and approved beforehand in order to play. When creating a character, use something that could be flavored as a Kakamora pirate. Your characters may be subject to a few tweaks, but only to keep things within the world that they are in. In this adventure, you are searching for the elusive Va'a (canoe) known as The Black Current. You are not the only ones looking for it! There is at least one other group of goody two shoes that is going after it too. You'll have to be quick and decisive to get it.
Since this is PBP, I will be charging every other week but with considerations that vacations and life events will push that back some days. I will make sure to be as active as the players will be on the Discord server. For the enjoyment of the other players, if you are not sufficiently active I will make sure to speak with you first about becoming more active, but if it continues to be a problem, I will have to find a new person to fill in the slot. The expected minimum is a post per day. I look forward to playing with you!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I currently use Avrae for all of my DMing. It is a useful tool that allows people to play TTRPGs even though they may be busy. In order to play, please have a DnDBeyond account ready to go and your character sheet filled out.
What Spencer brings to the table
Due to the online nature of this particular game, I will be bringing the world to the table as well as any resource to help build the character and any assistance that you may need for Avrae or DnDBeyond. I will also provide a well-organized discord server to play games in. If there are any more resources that you require, let me know and I will do my best to provide them.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew rules will be set as needed when they come up. There will be a consensus between me and you, the players, but I will have final say.

How Spencer creates a safe table
Players can expect a hard but balanced game with a fairly short story arc with brief player arc involvement. I have come to love using Avrae as my play by text medium so a free account with DnDBeyond will be required. I will guide you on how to use the application for the best experience. Instead of having a sit down session of a straight hour or two, sessions will be based on completion of milestones. Feedback is greatly appreciated.
