About the adventure
Strahd is dead. The great Vampire Lord slain by a band of legendary heroes some centuries ago, but while his body was destroyed and his castle razed, his spirit still lingers beyond the veil of reality, haunting the lands he once ruled. Now, rumour travels of dark forces gathering once again in the lands of Barovia, and your has called you to travel to Barovia and investigate the serverity of these claims yourself. Perhaps you are a descendent of the line of a great hero of Barovia, or an exile from the Vistani people, or afflicted with a terrible curse, or you once served these dark forces and now you seek redemption. Regardless of your path, you are not alone as you travel amoung unlikely companions in a horsedrawn carriage along the Old Svalich Road. Legacy of Strahd is a take on the 5e adventure Curse of Strahd, but built for the Shadowdark system, with a special emphasis on danger, roleplay, and the Gothic Horror heart of the setting and adventure. The major changes being that Strahd will be dead at the beginning of the campaign, and that Barovia is simply its own province in the world, as opposed to an isolated demi-plane.

What I provide
An inclusive environment for all players, including beginners, and LGBTQIA+ folks. Access to Foundry VTT preloaded will all content and character options. Maps, Tokens, and NPC portraits tailored to the content in this adventure. A curated playlist of scene enhancing music. Homebrew rules updates to Shadowdark to integrate better with the setting, ex; flintlock firearms, more resilient player characters, goal based experience, and a system for character stress.
Gameplay details
Each player will be asked for their lines & veils, which will be compiled into an anonymous document which will be available as a handout in Foundry that we'll go over during session 0. Digital X, N & O cards will be available through a Foundry module. Session 0 will be held to set expectations, discuss safety tools, briefly go over Foundry modules, coordinate character decisions, and integrate each character with the rest of the party as well as the setting. There will be a 5-10 minute break around 90 minutes into the session.

How will character creation work
All core classes are available, as well as Bard and Ranger optional classes, Knight of St Ydris and Witch from Cursed Scroll #1, and Seer from Cursed Scroll #3. Human is the only available ancestry, for the sake of reinforcing the gothic horror themes of the campaign, without straying back into high fantasy. During Session Zero, each player rolls 3d6 for their character ability stats in order. However, before any two of the rolls, the player can choose to roll 4d6 and drop the lowest result. At the end of the process one stat may be swapped for another. Finally, if no score is 14 or greater (or any stat is 5 or lower) the player may reroll that character. I have a homebrew list of Backgrounds, as well some hooks to tie your character into the setting that we will go over during Session Zero
