David is a captivating storyteller, who manages to drive forward a story while allowing your character and those adventuring with you real agency in both the serious and humorous moments. 🛡️ Safety Tools & Player Comfort Creating a safe and immersive experience is my top priority. I utilize multiple safety tools to ensure everyone at the table feels comfortable and respected. Below is an overview of how I implement these tools throughout the campaign. Session 0: Setting Expectations & Boundaries Before we begin, we will hold a Session 0 to cover: Game mechanics, rules, and homebrew adjustments Themes and content warnings Lines & Veils Document (will be shared via link for players to review and edit) Player expectations, character backstories, and group dynamics Conflict resolution methods (both in and out of character) Pacing, playstyle, and session scheduling This ensures that everyone is on the same page before we dive into the adventure. Live Session Safety Tools During gameplay, I use a Red Card System and a digital X, N, & O System to maintain a comfortable environment: RED – Message me "RED" to immediately stop a scene. I will fade to black or change direction. AMBER – Message me "AMBER" if a topic is approaching a boundary, and I will proceed with caution. GREEN- All is okay These tools allow players to communicate boundaries without disrupting the game flow. Aftercare & Check-ins I check in before and after sessions to ensure players are comfortable and enjoying the game. Feedback is always welcome and encouraged—just be respectful and constructive. If a session covers heavy material, I will provide space for debriefing and discussion to ensure no one leaves the game feeling unsettled. My inbox is open for private conversations if you need to address anything outside of sessions. 🎲 Gameplay Details & Homebrew Mechanics Game Mechanics Fate Roll: 1d100 (higher is better) No Flanking Rules Exhaustion in Combat: If you go down in combat, gain 1 level of exhaustion. If you go down again, gain 2 levels, and so on. Resurrection Magic: Reserved for high-level NPCs. Semi-Gritty Realism Rules: Short Rest: Recover short rest abilities, use HD to heal. Long Rest: Recover long rest abilities, use HD to heal. Extended Long Rest (24-48 hours): Fully recover HP, HD, and abilities. Teleportation Risks: Any form of teleportation leads through the "Nowhere," a dark, timeless realm. The longer you remain, the more likely you'll be hunted by malevolent beings—including the Nowhere King. Game Expectations Session Timing: Arrive early to avoid delays. Notify me at least an hour in advance if you'll be late, and at least a day ahead if you can't attend. Communication: Address issues maturely and through discussion. Respect: Treat each other with kindness and respect at all times. Metagaming: Avoid using out-of-character knowledge to influence decisions. PVP: Allowed only with both players' consent. Dice Rolls Matter: Natural 20s on skill checks do not guarantee success but represent the best possible outcome for your character. Spotlight Sharing: Everyone deserves their moment—don’t dominate the game. Living World: Actions have real consequences, shaping the world, factions, and NPCs around you.

How will character creation work

Character creation will occur at the table during Session 0 . Which includes discussions about the world and its lore, rolling up your characters, and helping you work on your backstories before session 1. Character Creation & Levelling Stat Rolls: 4d6, drop the lowest die. Minimum of 1 stat at 16. Maximum of 2 stats under 10. If your rolls meet these criteria, you must keep them. If not, you can reroll or keep the set. Milestone levelling system. Resources: PHB + MoTM + 1 resource.
