About me
I’m a military veteran (a long time ago), a father of several wonderful children, and an amateur mythologist, poet, and philosopher. I've been playing and running games for 42 years, a partial list of which is on my home page. I’m here to run games, and make that as easy and fulfilling as possible. Wanna see what I bring to the table? https://www.ofgodsandgamemasters.com/ and https://www.youtube.com/@OfGodsandGamemasters for my written work, my voice work, and my actual plays. I can run nearly any game, and that flexibility and wide knowledge improves all my games. I build deep, intense, and well-realized worlds, but my games and stories are player and player character driven and focused. I'll be glad to work with your table to create a custom setting and adventures that are absolutely bespoke and tailored to you!

I have played in numerous games with Jack over the past year (a total of 4 unique games!!!) and I have always had an immense amount of fun. Jack has always been open to my crazy ideas so long as I provide a solid balance between cool and consequences, which is exactly the sort of playstyle I adore. I have been able to do epic, amazing things and likewise suffered deep fallout... making for a fantastic story!!! As someone who loves mysteries, Jack has been able to craft interesting worlds with secrets to discover and puzzles to solve. I am often left thinking of plotlines long after games end, and I cannot wait for the story to continue! I am looking forward to a future of new worlds to explore and stories to tell with Jack!!
Jack is a great GM! He really took the time to help me build a character I love playing. His knowledge of history and culture has added such a richness to our game. I’m so glad I signed up! Our sessions are something I look forward to every week. I definitely recommend joining one of his campaigns if you have a chance.
I'm in a The One Ring 2e campaign with GM Jack. He knows the lore deeply and therefore puts a lot of love into the campaign giving the players an engaging story that has a real Tolkien world feel to it. He also has a good command of the rules and is committed to providing an inclusive and safe environment for all. Looking forward to our next session!
Jack is a different level of GM than those I've played with in the past. His knowledge of the game (all versions), lore, monsters, rules is incredibly broad and seemingly limitless. He's also an avid storyteller with lots of well written and thought out homebrew (both mechanics and story) on his discord and website. He role plays many different accents and all of his NPCs feel engaging, displaying their own quicks and idiosyncrasies. However I think my favourite aspect so far is the ability to spec our characters how we want, roleplayers, min-maxers, powerful multiclass combos, Jack isn't afraid of any of it, he scales any combat to our level and we can build whatever makes us happy, no restrictions on spells, skills and abilities and where there is room in RAW for GM interpretation/discretion, it's always in the player's favour. He always maintains our fun and enjoyment his main goal as GM and it feels like that when playing.
Character creation
Creating your character
These will be 150 pt characters suitable to be part of or associated with a Fianna warband defening the Isle of Fodla. We'll be using mainly the base books, Fantasy, and Celtic Myth, but I have all you'll need. Characters can be Kaelic (Gaels), Firbolgs (vaguely like dwarves, but seen as human and totally able to have children with Gaels), and examples of either of those with the blood of the Tuatha de Danaan or the Fomor in their veins.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is a webcam, mic, and a love of roleplaying and myth. Knowledge of the Irish myths not needed, you can learn as we go.:) We'll make characters together in session 0, by preference.
