About the adventure
Campaign Scope: Starting at level 1, this campaign will take you through the thrilling stories of The Lost Mine of Phandelver, followed by my own adventures delving deep into the Underdark with Whispers of the Abyss and Into the Dark, continuing with an epic battle for the Sword Coast with Shadow of the Mountain, and beyond. Pulling you into a tale of danger, mystery, and heroism. --- Opportunity often starts small—like the creak of wagon wheels on a dusty trail. Your story begins on the road to Phandalin, a town on the edge of civilization nestled beneath the shadow of the Sword Mountains. Your friend and patron, Gundren Rockseeker, an ambitious dwarf with big dreams and an even bigger grin, has hired you to escort a supply wagon loaded with provisions and equipment to the remote frontier town. The job’s straightforward enough: get the caravan to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin, and earn a quick 10 gold pieces per person. Simple coin, simple work. Gundren himself set out ahead of you days ago, accompanied by his trusted warrior companion, Sildar Hallwinter, saying he had “urgent business” to attend to in town. He’s been uncharacteristically vague, though his excitement was palpable. Judging by his enthusiasm—and Gundren’s reputation—the stakes feel important, even if you don’t yet know why. Despite the easy job, the road to Phandalin is fraught with subtle tension. The Triboar Trail, notorious for goblin and bandit activity, winds through lawless wilderness. You find yourselves drawn to this task not just for the coin but for the sense that this path may lead to something larger, something worth writing down in tales. What starts as escorting a wagon could be the first step into something extraordinary. Themes: Expect a fun balance of roleplay, exploration, and combat. Roleplay will offer chances to bond with allies, uncover secrets, and make crucial choices, while combat will be engaging, tactical, and challenging.
Meet the Game Master
About me
I’ve been playing and DMing since the 90s, exploring everything from AD&D and MERPS to Vampire: The Masquerade. After a break for fatherhood and life, I’m back to running games and playing, currently diving into 2024 D&D 5e. I’ve also started writing adventures and creating maps (both world and battlemaps). Feel free to check out what I’m working on at patreon.com/wgtngm

Creating your character
Session 0 will focus on creating your characters in Foundry VTT. If you already have an idea or a completed character, we can build or import it into the system. If not, no problem—we’ll create one together during the session! Allowed Content: Running 2024 ruleset, but legacy content is fine. Ability Scores: You can roll (4d6 drop lowest), use Point Buy (27 points), or the Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8). This is also a chance to introduce yourself and share your character’s backstory or concept with the group. Bring your ideas, and let’s get ready for a great campaign!
We are nearing the end of Act 2 of Phandalin. Players are level 3. Still plenty of adventure to be had as will be going to at least level 15 :D Voice Chat will be on Discord. Character Creation done on D&D Beyond Campaign. D&D 2024 rules and characters.
