About the adventure
Join a secret society of occult investigators protecting your city from horrors that bleed into our reality. Candela Obscura has been collecting and studying occult knowledge for centuries. Investigators are brave, skilled people who can draw on powerful artifacts when needed, but in the end you are just normal people, holding the line against vast dark powers we can scarcely comprehend. This will be a weekly campaign lasting a few months until we resolve the major plot-lines. Your Circle and characters will level-up, you'll manage Circle resources between assignments and your character will probably come away with some scars.

How to prepare
You need a free Discord account (www.discord.com), a good mic, stable Internet and few 6-sided dice. My Discord has a dice-rolling tool if you need it. What I provide
I have run Candela Obscura many times and it has been great fun. I have experience running similar storytelling games like PBTA and FATE. I know how to get the most out of this kind of game. I have decades of game design and adventure design experience. All adventures are bespoke for this campaign.
Gameplay details
A copy of Monty Cook's safety checklist showing our lines and veils is pinned in our Discord channel. Please review it and DM me if you have any limits not covered there. I expect everyone to abide by those limits. We'll have a planned break, but step away any time for any reason, no questions asked. Just let me know by text or voice. (Open Door) We will leave a few minutes at the end of each session for debrief, aftercare and Stars and Wishes.

How will character creation work
When you sign up you'll get a link to my Discord server. We will create characters ahead of time. You may use characters from my previous 1-shots, but we will be digging deeper into their backstory and personality. * Pick a cool name that fits with the period. * Choose a style and look for your character. Reference pics welcome. * What event proved to your PC that magic is real? This is your 'catalyst'. * How did your PC come to join Candela? * What burning question drives your PC to delve into the occult? Detailed backstories are welcome, ping me on Discord and we will discuss. Give me a week or two and I will weave your backstory into the main plot-lines as much as possible. Players are also encouraged to build connections between PCs. You circle will have its own Discord channel where you can plan. The Candela rulebook has lots of great ideas of this but it's not required. You can just make up whatever works for you and the other players.
