About the adventure
The Galactic Empire has fallen, its Death Stars destroyed, its Emperor dead, and its armies and navies routed. The New Republic, led by Chancellor Mon Mothma, spreads throughout the galaxy, bringing peace and prosperity to even the most distant planets. In spite (and because) of the new hope the Republic brings, the Imperial Remnant and some even darker forces are working on destabilizing and ultimately destroying the newly established democracy. Years after its disappearance, the Czerka Corporation has reemerged on Mek-Sha, a mined-out asteroid serving as a space station. A call has been sent out to the galaxy, inviting people from all sides and walks of life to visit the new "Luxurious retreat away from the horrors of the galaxy". As different factions send representatives, spies, and investigators to discover Czerka's intentions and latest schemes, plenty of spacers consider the corporation a potential source of wealth and glory. The only question is, what goal have you set for yourself as you travel to Mek-Sha? Set in the year 10 ABY, the adventure takes place during the time of the New Republic and the New Jedi Order, 5 years after the destruction of the second Death Star. We will be using the Star Wars RPG system from Fantasy Flight Games, which perfectly evokes the feeling of the galaxy far far away and lets the players tell their own stories among the trillions of stars. The story begins on Mek-Sha as the characters arrive at the asteroid-based haven. This is a planet-hopping adventure with the entire galaxy at your disposal as you make friends and enemies in your personal Star Wars story.

About me
As a GM with more than a decade of experience, I have a passion for cooperative storytelling, so I do everything I can to enable my players to tell their own stories as part of larger campaigns. I encourage players to participate in worldbuilding, whether in a published adventure (no need to stick to the written adventure if it's just going to mess with us having fun) or homebrew worlds. While I am primarily focused on open-ended sandbox stories and world-building, I do not neglect any of the "three pillars" (exploration, combat, and social interaction) Combat in my games always serves a purpose instead of being a mindless slaughter for levels and there are plenty of challenges that do not involve combat at all. My experience with virtual tabletops and intimate knowledge of the rules allow players to jump right in without a care in the world since I can get you started quickly and help you learn as we go along. Numerous beginner groups started with me and slowly transitioned to longer, more serious campaigns, which is why I enjoy teaching new people how to play tabletop RPGs, but also why I run plenty of campaigns in higher tiers of play. I am an experienced and patient GM who will do his best to accommodate his players and run a story we can enjoy together.

Creating your character
Characters will be created in FoundryVTT with all the books unlocked and players are free to use any species and careers/specializations in the books. Character creation will be done with my assistance during Session 0 and will then be playtested to make sure that the characters fit what the players envisioned (session 0 is free). If the players want to prepare a character beforehand, they are free to do so using any of the officially published resources.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A mic and a web browser (laptop, PC, Mac...) are required to play. No installation is required as everything is browser-based. Knowledge of the rules is not required because the game is open to beginners.
What George brings to the table
I bring FoundryVTT, the most powerful virtual tabletop (dynamic lighting, music, character, gameplay automation, animation for different attacks/abilities), extensive knowledge of the rules, years of experience as a GM, deep and adaptive storytelling, dynamic worlds, and silly voices.

How George creates a safe table
You can expect varied ambiance music and immersive artwork representing different scenes, as well as (sometimes silly) voices for different NPCs. Character sheets and game mechanics will be fully automated to help you use the system to its full potential and all rolls will be made in the open. Combat is fair and always in service to the story instead of being a pointless slog designed to waste time. I will strive to incorporate your character's backstory into the campaign so you can shape the story with me instead of just going through a railroaded experience. After each session we will have a short conversation about the session, giving you a chance to voice your opinion on everything that happened.
