About the adventure
Experience the Epic Fantasy Adventure of Critical Role's Call of the Netherdeep! In the ancient past, the world of Exandria was torn apart by a war between the gods of good and evil. Both sides imbued their mortal champions with supernatural powers, allowing them to challenge their divine foes. The greatest of these champions was Alyxian the Apotheon, who received the blessings of three Prime Deities to save the world from the Betrayer Gods. Now, hundreds of years later, all knowledge of this hero has been lost. Two groups of adventurers are called upon to retrace Alyxian's steps and free him from his prison. The journey begins in the lands of Xhorhas and eventually heads to Ank'Harel, but will ultimately take you beyond the Material Plane to the realm of the Netherdeep. This campaign is for players that want the excitement of a fully immersive fantasy adventure. Danger and discovery await around every corner as you explore the magical world of Exandria. Join forces with other adventurers and brave the dangers of this epic sandbox style fantasy campaign. Encounter beasts, demons, and undead monsters in the wastes of Xhorhas, and experience the metropolis city of Ank'Harel, The Jewel of Hope. 💧 The campaign runs from level 3 all the way to level 15, allowing you to experience high-level play in the world of Exandria. 💧 My homebrew additions to the campaign bring new elements of mystery and excitement to the Call of the Netherdeep storyline. 💧 Experience epic narration that will transport you into the world of Exandria, adding depth and drama to every encounter. 💧 Marvel at beautiful artwork for every NPC and location, bringing the magical world of Exandria to life. 💧 Enjoy dozens of personally curated playlists for setting up the perfect ambience in every session. 💧 Each NPC in my campaign has a unique voice and accent, adding even more authenticity and immersion to the gameplay experience. 💧 Plus, as an added bonus, I give you a free level 1 feat - you'll definitely need it 😉 💧 Rulesets Used - Players may create characters using either the 2014 rules or the 2024 rules. Once you choose, your character must fully follow that ruleset with no mixing between the two. Don't miss out on this epic D&D experience - sign up now. Hurry, spots are filling up fast! About me
For over a decade, I’ve been guiding players through unforgettable adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. Since shortly after StartPlaying’s founding, I’ve been running games here and I’m proud to be among the platform’s top-rated DMs. That means you can expect reliable, immersive sessions shaped by years of professional experience. I spent years in higher education, earning an associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree, only to realize that storytelling was my true calling. With additional training in voice acting, I bring NPCs, villains, and tragic figures to life in ways that feel layered and unforgettable. My goal is to make sure you feel immersed at every step, whether you are unraveling lore, facing difficult choices, or pursuing an epic character arc. When I’m not writing for my own homebrew world, you’ll find me lost in sourcebooks, consuming every bit of fantasy content I can, or testing out new tabletop systems. Don’t be surprised if I occasionally break into song at the table. I didn’t choose bard life, bard life chose me. If you love Critical Role, character-driven storytelling, and settings that breathe around you, pull up a chair. You’ll feel right at home at my table. And finally, don’t forget to love each other!

Creating your character
Characters will be created during the first session. I run a session 0 to answer any questions and make sure everyone is comfortable and has their character ready. Backstories should be written before session 1 as well.
Level 7, very early in the adventure. Call of the Netherdeep begins in the lively town of Jigow during the Festival of Merit, where the party earns a mysterious vision and a powerful relic. Their search for answers leads them to the war-torn city of Bazzoxan, where ancient darkness seeps from the depths of Betrayers’ Rise. Inside, they face a series of harrowing trials that culminate in a long-forgotten prayer chamber. Now the party is in the jewel of hope investigating an underground sea.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a D&D Beyond account, Syrinscape account, and a Discord Account. A decent mic, headset and computer are also required. Other than that there is nothing players need to bring with them to session besides a good attitude and wanderlust.
What Roxas brings to the table
I bring to the table the complete collection on D&D Beyond which gives the players in my campaigns access to all of that content. Foundry VTT a powerful software with dynamic lighting and special effects capabilities.
Homebrew rules
💧 Potions It is a bonus action to swig a potion 💧 Flanking Flanking confers a +2 bonus to attack rolls instead of advantage 💧 Critical Hits Critical hits cause the damage on the dice to be doubled instead of rolling extra dice 💧 Critical failures and Critical Successes If a roll results in a natural 1, it is considered a failure. On the other hand, if the roll is a natural 20, it is always a success and may also have additional benefits, which are determined by me. 💧 Death Saves Death saving throws are done privately 💧 Stealth Outside Combat Players make (Dexterity) Stealth rolls only when someone is in a position to see them or look for them. 💧 Investigation Checks For Traps When searching for traps, the person checking will roll a check once and continue to use that result until a trap is found in order to avoid constantly rolling. 💧 Vicious Mockery or Tasha’s Hideous Laughter If you use vicious mockery or Tasha’s hideous laughter and your joke/insult makes me laugh, the target gets no saving throw.

How Roxas creates a safe table
A typical session will be everyone logging into D&D Beyond, then joining discord, and joining the Foundry VTT link. After everyone is situated and ready to go then we will jump right into the game. Exploring and role-playing will be large portions of the game as well as combat. This is a game for people who like gritty realism combined with high fantasy, an accurate comparison would be the Witcher series. I like to play my games with a healthy mix of role-playing and combat. There is also a good amount of serious and silly content. You can expect the game to be fully fleshed out, everywhere you go there will be a map or animated artwork to show you what your surroundings look like accompanied by a narrative explanation. I pride myself on my voice acting skills and will do my best to breathe life into every NPC. What I can’t do with my voice I supplement with voice mods. Character death is a serious possibility, especially at early levels. This is because I do not pull punches and let the dice fall where they may. I feel the world seems much more alive and realistic when you are bumping into things that are both easy to take care of and nearly impossible to manage. Knowing when to run is one of the greatest skills an adventurer must possess. I want to get your adrenaline pumping in dangerous situations and make it feel as real as possible. I require everyone to be on time and ready for the session and expect them to stay for the entirety unless an emergency arises. I expect people to stay in character as much as possible and I do not tolerate metagaming. I run a mature game and any topic may come up at the table in game, if there are any specific lines you would like to avoid crossing please feel free to message me and I will make a note of it. You can expect to have a 10-minute break around mid-session for grabbing snacks, drinks, and bio breaks.
