About the adventure

CALLING ALL ADVENTURERS! Word has spread across the land: a mighty dragon has been sighted circling the skies, its ominous shadow looming over the once-quiet region. The town of Phandalin, nestled against rugged hills, now teeters on the edge of chaos. The dragon's presence has emboldened orcs, goblins, and other dark creatures, disrupting trade, ambushing travelers, and terrorizing nearby villages. Wild creatures once docile are now aggressive, prowling too close to the town's borders. Phandalin’s citizens, desperate to return to their peaceful lives, send out a call for heroes of all kinds. Only the brave and bold need answer. Your skill, wit, and courage could be the key to bringing balance back to the land, protecting the innocent, and standing against the terrifying threat of a dragon. Gather your allies, test your mettle, and face the darkness that lurks in the shadows. Phandalin awaits its heroes—will you answer the call?

Amazing, I had a really great time with the one shot Daniel put together for our group. We were all beginners and he took the time to teach core mechanics but most importantly he kept the adventure and narrative rolling. I highly recommended him to anyone considering joining one of his adventures!

me and two of my friends had never played before and it was full out awesome. he was super chill and super nice and willing to teach us. He showed us how everything works and was super patient. I would definitely recommend him to any new players. definitely had lots of fun with the one shot adventure and would totally do it again. and this is what all three of us had said and we did absolutely love it

Daniel is an excellent DM!! I was very new to D&D and found him to be a great teacher, very patient, and open to feedback. He encouraged us to explore and roleplay and also set up some "downtime activities" to keep us involved in the storyline for the 2 weeks between sessions. Honestly wish the meetings were weekly rather than biweekly because my group is so much fun! Highly recommend him as a DM.

Did a one shot with Daniel and he put a massive amount of work into setting things up. It was quiet a fun run and our group really made him think on his feet and but he was able to adept and keep the game going. Would play with again.

What I provide

Hail Adventure! This campaign is called Dragons of Icespire Peak, it is a perfect introduction campaign for new players looking to dive right in! As a Player turned DM, I strive to make the most out of sessions. What to expect from me as a DM: I strive to integrate each players story into the campaign. Making the characters feel apart of the world. Downtime activities will happen between sessions for whoever chooses to participate. Events will also happen in town and to NPCs to help develop their individual stories as the players interact with them. Players will become beloved or hated by NPCs depending on action and conversations had with NPCs. The story will unfold and change as each sessions passes based on the actions of the party. Example: That owlbear the players defeated and left by the side of the road attracted wolves. This led to travellers and caravans been attacked. Leading to a lack of wares being supplied in town and prices for everyday goods sky-rocketing. The townsfolk turned to thievery just to fill their stomachs. Now the once prosperous settlement is in shambles. Platform: Roll20 The game will be hosted on Roll20, where I have prepared dynamic maps and integrated tokens to represent monsters and characters, ensuring a visually immersive experience. Voice Chat: Discord. We will use Discord for voice communication, allowing for real-time interaction and collaboration throughout the adventure. Creative Resources: Maps & Tokens. Maps and Tokens will be used from the source material to bring the world to life, enhancing the storytelling experience. Character Impersonations: Voicemod. I will use Voicemod to enhance character interactions and bring the NPCs to life with unique voices, adding depth and immersion to our session. Focus on Fun: Engagement and Enjoyment. My primary goal is to ensure that everyone has a fun and memorable experience. I'm here to facilitate your adventure, support your character development, and encourage collaboration among players. Flexibility and Adaptation: Responsive Gameplay. I am commited to adapting the game base on player feedback and preferences. Your enjoyment and comfort are my top priorities, and I'm always open to suggestions to enhance the sessions.

Safety Tools for our Adventures: To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all players, we will implement the following safety tools during the game: 1. Session Zero Before we embark on our adventure, I will try hold a Session Zero. This is an opportunity for everyone to discuss: - Character Creation: Players can create their own characters to play during the adventure, or choose a pre-made character that is provided. - Boundaries and Comfort Levels: We will establish boundaries around content that may be sensitive or triggering. Players are encourage to voice any topics they'd prefer to avoid. 2. Open Door Policy We maintain an Open Door Policy to prioritise the well-being of all players. If at any point you feel the need to leave the game, whether for a break or due to discomfort. You are encouraged to do so. Your mental and emotional safety is paramount. Players can step away quietly, or if comfortable, communicate their need for a break. We will ensure that your absence is respected, and you can rejoin when you're ready. 3. Breaks During the Adventure Regular breaks will be scheduled to give everyone a chance to stretch, refresh and recharge. If you need an unscheduled break at any time, feel free to step away. 4. Debriefing after the Adventure At the end of the adventure, we will have a debriefing. This is a chance for everyone to share their experience and thoughts on the game. Discuss what you enjoy and address any concerns that may have arisen. 5. Aftercare To ensure everyone can decompress, we will set aside time for aftercare. This may include: Casual Conversations: Talk about lighter topics to shift focus away from the adventure/ Self-Care Practices: Encouragement to engage in activities that help you relax and feel grounding after the session.

How will character creation work

You are more then welcome to create your own character. I have listed some points below to help guide you. Please feel free to reach out if you would like myself to guide you through creating a character. Timing: Character Creation will take place prior to our first session. This allows everyone to be ready to jump into the adventure from the start. Character Level: Starting level for all characters will be level 1. This is a great starting point for new players and allows for exciting growth for future adventures. Stats & Abilities. We will be using Standard Array: Assign scores from the standard array (15, 14, 13, 12 , 10, 8). This ensure that all player characters are balanced and no one is overpowered compared to everyone else. Character Creation Location. Roll20: Characters will be created using the Roll20's character sheet system. Join the game from the link provided in the Prep Materials and launch the game. I'll provide guidance on how to fill out the sheet if needed. Source Material: Allowed Books: Players can refer to the Player's Handbook (2024) for character options. Restrictions: Please avoid using home-brew content and material from unofficial sources unless discussed and approved beforehand. Guidance and Support. Help is always available. I'll be available to assist with any questions during the character creation process. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help or clarification on rules!
