About the adventure
Traveling from the bustling Neverwinter port, you're caught in an ancient war between Chromatic and Metallic dragons after coming out of a raging storm at sea. You must explore the forgotten ruins of Stormwreck Isle, battle monstrous creatures, and unravel the island's secrets to prevent its destruction while addressing the struggles that lead you to leave Neverwinter behind. --- 🐲This Game - Character Levels 1-3 in 4 Acts Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is the perfect adventure for D&D 5e beginners! While all experience levels are welcome, the table is intended for beginners, so I expect patience when we’re going at a learning pace. While this adventure was written for the 2014 rules, we’ll be using 2024. In this adventure, your characters will start at level one and will advance to level three across four acts of story progression. There will be main story quests to complete, along with side quests and room for some general exploration and downtime. 🗣️ Characters - Pregens or Custom The adventure you’ll have the option of selecting one of five pregenerated characters to reduce the stress of coming up with backstory, story hooks and decision fatigue, or you can build your own and we’ll work together to come up with backstory and hooks to pull into the game! The pre-generated characters were created with 2014 rules, so I’ve regenerated them with 2024. The options are: - Elf Fighter - Elf Wizard - Dwarf Cleric - Human Paladin - Halfling Rogue You can claim one of these pregens and play as is, or customize. If you’d like to create your own character, let me know! I’ll want to make sure we’re including their backstory into the game! ⚙️ Mechanics & Encounters - D&D 5e 2024 Rules D&D 5e is a rules heavy game. You’ll do a lot of rolling to understand your success level during combat, exploration, and social situations. This adventure has a good balance of combat, exploration and social encounters to help you ease into these rules.
The High Elf Wizard and Dwarf Cleric have been claimed! Our session 0 will be jan 18th!

How to prepare
You'll need an account for The Forge to access the game, a Discord account to chat with other players, access voice sessions and all communication post sign up, and a D&D Beyond account to claim or build your character. You'll need a working mic, but video is optional! Some folks are on Zoom all day and don't want to spend another 3-4 hours on camera, I get it. D&D Beyond: - Claim or create your character on D&D Beyond - you only need a free account to do so; I'll share the content I have there (incl. 2024 PHB, TCoE & XGtE). We can decide in session 0 how long the group has been together as a team and what they already know about each other. The Forge: You'll need an account for The Forge to access our Foundry server. Discord: You'll need a Discord account to participate in voice sessions and chat with the rest of the table! I prefer to do all post-sign-up communication there. Workshopping: We'll work on character creation during session 0 and in Discord in the time leading up to our 1st session. Session 0 will focus on learning some basics, deciding high-level details of your party's interpersonal relationships, discussing game rules, etc. You don't have to wait until our session 0 to decide what you want to play!
What I provide
We'll play on Foundry VTT via Forge. I'll use some imagery, interactive maps, and soundscapes to set the tone, but this will be largely theater of the mind. In session 0, we'll spend time creating characters and backstory, making sure we know how to use our tools, and I can get your character information onto your character sheet on Foundry. You'll have access to the 2024 PHB and extra materials through D&D Beyond once you've joined the campaign. As for gameplay, I am narrative-heavy and prefer to add atmosphere and prompt players for action. D&D 5e is rule and roll heavy, but I do my best to roll good checks over as much as possible and lean toward rule of cool vs RAW. I expect you to ask many questions (or I'll prompt you to explore) during missions. If players would like it, I'm happy to create a space for text RPG between sessions after completing missions. I'm not a voice actor, but I do my best to help differentiate between different NPCs. I will use appropriate music for whatever setting or situation we're in. I intend for my table to be a safe space for newbies, women, BIPOC, and LGBTQA folks, and I won't tolerate antagonization.
Gameplay details
Session 0: We'll have a session 0 to discuss the context of the game, rules, character creation, lines and veils, other safety tools, and anything else necessary to set the right tone and vibe at the table. Lines & Veils: Before the session 0, you'll need to submit a response to a lines & veils survey so I can make sure the table remains safe for everyone. We'll discuss what the limitations are at our session 0. Breaks: We'll take two 10-minute breaks per session to give folks time to breathe, grab snackies and bio.

How will character creation work
Dragons of Stormwreck Isle is built with five pre-generated characters in mind, however, if you'd like to build your own, we can do that together, or customize the pregens! The pregenerated options are: - Dwarf Cleric - Human Paladin - Elf Fighter - Halfling Rogue - Elf Wizard You can claim one of these pregens from the campaign page on D&D Beyond. If you're building your own, you'll build your character using the character builder on D&D Beyond and connect it to the campaign so you can access all of my materials! We'll use Beyond20 to connect your character to Foundry, making rolling easy. I'll share instructions on how to do so after joining. We'll work on character creation and party building during session 0 and in Discord in the time leading up to our 1st session. Session 0 will focus on character classes, rolling stats, deciding high-level details of your group's interpersonal relationships, discussing game rules, etc. We can continue building or getting to know your character over the week leading up to our 1st session. We can also use the time we have before session 0 as we're waiting for seats to fill to brainstorm on character ideas and work through any rules questions!
