From the Shadows of Ruins - The Temple of Elemental Evil
Dungeon Crawl Classics | Campaign
About the adventure
Years ago, a great Evil gathered several elemental temples together to amass a great force to destroy the armies of Good. Fortunately, several great warriors were able to lead their men against the temple and crush the armies of Chaos, forcing them back into the temple and trapping the Chaos Lords that led them inside. For several years following the destruction of the temple, adventurers from near and far have come looking for the ruins and whatever treasure still waited in dark chambers, deep under the earth. Many have left empty handed, or not at all. Recently, rumors have begun growing that forces within the temple are beginning to stir once more. Creatures and men of evil have been seen raiding local areas, kidnapping and recruiting others and disappearing into the forest near the temple. What being calls out to those who would serve evil and how long do the peaceful people of the surrounding area have before The Temple of Elemental Evil rises once again? This will be an ongoing campaign, running Goodman Games OAR remaster of The Temple of Elemental Evil, converted from 5E to Dungeon Crawl Classics. We will use core rules with a couple additions to character creation to help you make the character you want to play. All players will create 2 PCs to start as death will be a real risk. Session zero ($Free) will allow me to inform you of the pantheon and world we will be playing in, go over what to expect and create our Lvl 1 PCs, as well as cover any concerns or off limit topics. The campaign will be a mix of exploration, combat and roleplay, with player decisions determining the balance of those elements. Game will be Every Other Week using Discord and Foundry VTT.
Game style
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Looking to make new friends and delve into a campaign full of danger, suspense and likely death!? This is the adventure for you. This will be an ongoing campaign that can possibly run up to two years or longer! Teamwork, planning and a fair share of Luck will be needed to survive and defeat the rise of The Temple of Elemental Evil!!
