About the adventure
The goblins and orcs don't live here anymore, they said. The Imperial Legion of Yalen has claimed this place in the name of the King, they said; whatever the hell that means. This was supposed to be a single, quick and easy job. But you're still hearing talks of raids, political backstabbing, undead, and a damn dragon. You're stuck here for a while, might as well make the best of it. -- A low-power campaign in a high fantasy world set on the outskirts of a growing empire. The party is part of a faction involved in the founding of a border settlement and will tangle with threats from without and within. Pseudo-West Marches/Marshes, where multiple parties of player characters exist and operate in the same persistent world where time moves forward consistently. Fantasy Western Vibes. Players will likely contribute to lore and narrative details on a regular basis; they're story collaborators in this GM's book. Themes & Concepts to Explore (non-exhaustive): Decolonialism, Community Building, Dragons are Assholes, Drugs, Life vs Undeath, Tenacity. Game will run in a persistent world inhabited by other adventuring parties that regularly changes as factions (large and small) work towards their goals. Campaign will be driven by player's goals, interests, and actions. Characters are fragile, but so are their opponents. We are here to tell a really cool story first, and "win" second. I love just trusting the dice and their ability to tell interesting stories alongside the rule of cool; Creative Problem Solving will always be rewarded. Sub-optimal decisions that are true to character are not punished. Min 1 Game/Week
ZERO TTRPG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. --- Westmarches Style EZD6 adventure where telling an interesting story is the point, the factions are busy whether you see them or not, and you're not the only adventuring party making ripples in the world. If you've ever said "these rules are too much", this is the game for you. * In-character roleplay is very welcome, voices are optional. * Zone-based tactical combat will be a regular occurrence * Ample opportunity for Exploration and Mystery Solving * Active factions that may take note of party and player actions * Player backstories are worked into story and world * Improv skills & interest very welcome, but not required

How to prepare
Players will need: A working microphone Discord Account (https://discord.com/) Web Browser to run owlbear Rodeo (no account required) Players should have a general character concept in mind by time of play. They can build out potential characters using the documents here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16Yuvp_5_waO72nP6TP91vSBTM0qANFuQ DM is available to answer questions.
What I provide
Digital maps, handouts, tokens, and dice will be provided via our digital platform. GM is not a voice actor but gets into character and is pretty good at it. Players will be the playing and helping to define the history and facts about a slice of a fully realized homebrew world and contributing to the narrative of a sprawling, persistent world that is years and hundreds of work-hours in the making Also bringing Dozens of Adventure Modules that may show up in parts or as a whole.
Gameplay details
Games are typically PG-13, Content List reflects themes that may occur in the breadth of play. If we're ever getting into matter that is deep water for a player, GM is happy to pause to talk, scale back or fade to black and continue. At least 1 Scheduled Break will occur every session. Player XNO Cards are managed digitally via VTT. Players are encouraged to ask for a pause at any point it's needed.

How will character creation work
New Players will participate in a brief character building call with DM to figure out their characters' deep and recent history and where it plugs into the world. Players that own EZD6 can come with a pre-created character that will require 30 seconds of modification to fit with homebrew players'. EZD6 Character Creation takes 10 minutes if we go slow, and Premade characters will be available if needed. First 15-30 min of each session is dedicated to character and world bookkeeping.
