About the adventure

(Free Session 0. Will have character and house creation.) The year is 104 AC. King Viserys I Targaryen, inheritor of the throne from King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, has claimed his throne following the death of the previous king a year prior. He has inherited the realm at its height of the rule of the house of the dragon but also a time of great tension. His gaining of the throne over House Velaryon and the tension at the very edges of the ever expanding reach of the seven kingdoms. The story begins when word reaches the crownlands regarding the ever increasing tolls on the shipping lanes through the Stepstones/ narrow sea by the Free cities. While not wanting to start a large war at the beginning of his reign of peace, King Viserys set his hand, Sir Otto Hightower, to handle the matter without letting full scale war breaking out. While that is the word of the king, the hand that sought to do things differently behind the back of the king. He sought to the matter to be handled with Corlys Velaryon handling most of the naval planning while he put word out for minor lords and ladies to take this opportunity to seek power over the gold that was there for the taking. They just have to subdue those that deny and manage the shipping lanes such severe tolls. Those that answer the call with their armies will be meeting at Cape Wrath in the Stormlands to begin the incursion upon the Stepstones and the disposing of the Triarchy over the chain of islands. This is an alternative telling of the story and will lead into the dance of dragons. Where, hopefully if you play your cards right, will give your house(s) plenty of glory and time to expand your power. Having naval allies or a formidable army that has seen conflict in an age of peace is invaluable.

How to prepare

For preparation, make sure you have a mic and a roll20 account.

What I provide

I will have a roll20 setup for the purposes of having everything we need for play there. Character sheet, NPC's, Maps, and so on. I will not utilize voices as I have a limited range of voices I can make. On the matter of combat, I tend to do theatre of the mind or tactical combat depending on the situation you all are in (tactical fights will have maps). I am a bit more loose with rules if I feel it benefits the story on the matter of how strict I am.

Gameplay details

Line and Veils will be discussed at session zero to make sure everyone has an understanding of where the lines are in the sand going forward from that point. That way it caters to the group and not to only me. Session 0 will go over character concepts, general things players would enjoy having in the story, and to hammer out group dynamics.
