The name’s Durnan, I’m the owner and proprietor of The Yawning Portal tavern, and let’s get one thing straight: this letter ain’t an invitation. It’s a warning. The Undermountain don’t just belong to the Mad Mage. He is it. And it’s him. You’ll understand soon enough, if you go down there. But let me tell you this, things have changed in Undermountain. Something is brewing down there. I can’t say if it’s a threat to Waterdeep or the North, but if it is … I only give warnings once; if you’re still keen on dying in the darkness, let it be your decision. But don’t let your need for thrills get you killed. Or your need to see “just one more room.” If you do decide to stake your claim and test the Mad Mage Maze for riches and magic, I won’t be disappointed to see you at my tavern, but I will mourn your descent. Game will start when 3 players sign up.

DM Dad is a fantastic DM! He made getting back into D&D after many decades away from table top games super easy. He is very collaborative in bringing your ideas and hopes for your character to life in the game. He makes sure that everyone is included at the "table". The worlds really come alive between the visual aids he prepares, the ambient music, and the acting of the NPCs you get to interact with. I am thoroughly enjoying the game and highly recommend him as your next DM!

Kent (aka DM Dad) is a great DM. He's been a long-time player and is extremely knowledgeable of D&D history, lore, and (most importantly) the rules. However, he is very patient and tolerant with players both with game-play AND the mechanics of the gaming platform we use. I highly recommend him for groups of pretty much any experience level. He makes the gaming experience a LOT of fun. I look forward to our sessions every week.

How to prepare
Players will need a working mic, webcam is optional but as a DM I will be running mine during play. Players will have to make a Fantasy grounds account and then download the Fantasy grounds unity demo version, which is free. What I provide
As the DM I will bring the story to life. I will bring the interactive maps and illustrations, ambient and combat music all done through Fantasy grounds unity and discord.
