About the adventure
In Whispers in the Mist, the line between myth and reality blurs as ordinary people awaken to the power of ancient legends hidden deep within them. The city itself is a sprawling metropolis, shrouded in a perpetual mist that hides both its darkest corners and the most incredible truths. Within this mist, people begin to manifest extraordinary powers tied to the ancient myths they unknowingly embody. But with great power comes even greater secrets, and beneath the surface lies a web of conspiracies, ancient forces, and powerful players vying for control. What starts as routine soon spirals into something far more complex, as a hidden war between mythical factions and shadowy organizations is uncovered. Powerful figures within the city—some human, some...not—will stop at nothing to protect their secrets, and you must decide whom to trust as you walk the razor’s edge between the mundane and the magical. As the mist deepens and the city’s true nature begins to unravel, you must face your own connections to the legends you embody. Do you embrace your powers, risking your humanity, or do you fight to hold onto your sense of self? Hello, I'm Chance. I have been playing TTRPGs of one sort or another for better than 30 years (most of that as a GM). What started out as a hobby to entertain a small group of close friends in my basement with a D&D boxed set has turned into a lifelong love of storytelling and a desire to meet like-minded people! I have spun stories around great heroes known throughout the realms...as well as hog breeders that just wanted more than their little corner of the farm. Whether you are looking to be a knight of renown or a simple wanderer, there are stories to envelope you. My table is always open, and I try to maintain a safe, courteous and mostly fun place for you to explore the world that we create together. I have played with veteran players as well as complete beginners. I play online, in game stores, conventions...heck, I've even been known to still kick it in the basement...old school. Creating your character
In City of Mist, character creation revolves around building a character who embodies both their mundane identity and their mythic nature. Players choose a Mythos, the ancient legend or archetype that grants their character extraordinary powers, and a Logos, representing their everyday persona and life. We'll go over characters in session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a decent mic, a discord account (preferably set for 'push-to-talk'), an internet connection and the desire to have fun. My only real rule is 'Don't be a jerk!'...if you can abide with that rule, the rest is easy.
What Chance brings to the table
I have the rulebooks, the campaign knowledge, a Discord server specifically for the game as well as the Foundry server we'll be using as our VTT. Players need only bring a desire to have fun!

How Chance creates a safe table
Whispers will be a weekly game set in the City of Mists. Knowledge of the system or content is not necessary...we'll be happy to help you along with everything you need. Players can expect a narratively driven game set in the gritty world of the City. The game is open to all providing you are above the age of 18 whether you know the system or not.
