About the adventure
The Remorseful One is always present. Always watching, always waiting to strike. The Divine Essence of the Shattered acts as a shield against this darkness, but it is growing. It seeps through the cracks in our World, waiting to snatch away what bits of power it can. Looking to weaken the cancer that has taken hold of its creation. The cancer that is life as we know it... Our world was created unintentionally by a being now intent on its destruction, but held back by essence of gods already felled. Still, darkness seeps through, and the dam against the unknowable is beginning to break. ==================== Canvas of the Realms is both a campaign and a worldbuilding exercise. The setting and its backstory were designed by the players, who are encouraged to continue seeding lore as the adventure unfolds! Places, people, and information that fits the narrative can be added by the players, expanding the setting and adding to our roleplay. As the GM I guide this process, pushing forward the world itself around the players and their actions. As an asynchronous play-by-post game, game-play will take place in text form throughout the week. There are no sit-down sessions, as players and the GM will respond as available throughout each day. Payment is taken at the start of each week, providing access to this continued text-based play.
Asynchronous play-by-post game. Session charges occur once per week, granting access to gameplay occurring in text form throughout each week. Party is level 2

How to prepare
Players will require a Discord account, as all rolls and conversation will occur within the game's Discord channels. Access to the server and channels will be provided to each player as they join. Player Character sheets must be linked to Avrae, a Discord D&D bot. Linkable sheets can be created on D&D Beyond, Dicecloud, or on specific Google Sheets. Links and details to and about these options will be available in Discord. A webcam and microphone are not required, as there is no voice/video chat associated with this game.
What I provide
- A Discord server and channels specific to this campaign - Discord channels for roleplay, out-of-character conversation, dice rolls, configuration, and world building - Discord bots (such as Avrae and Tupperbox) to accompany and enhance gameplay, along with details and assistance regarding their use - Imaginative worlds, interesting NPCs, and engaging descriptions - Guidance and oversight to keep the game moving and away from stagnation
Gameplay details
The setting begins with a simpler world descending into darkness, though rays of light and hope yet exist, with the party becoming one of those rays. The content warning tags listed are items that have already come up or are likely to, considering the current narrative. They do not reflect every possibility, as (beyond the lines/veils below) the party is open to most horror. As the setting is designed collectively, players do have a chance to request any particular lines (content that should not exist, or not receive any attention even if it's implied to exist) or veils (content that exists but is glossed over/fades to black if encountered). GM Imposed Lines There will be no sexual content, implied or explicit, involving minors. There will be no sexual assault against player characters or initiated by player characters. GM imposed Veils Any sexual encounters/content implied between consenting characters will be strictly fade to black. While sexual content may exist and be present (for example, the party enters a brothel), there will be limited to no descriptions of sexual acts or content. ==================== Gameplay will take place within Discord using the Avrae bot, a powerful tool for text-based 5th Edition D&D. While Avrae has a fair amount of complexity, I'll walk players through its use and the basics needed for gameplay.

How will character creation work
Characters are created specific to the setting, designed to fit into the world. D&D2014 content only, we are not using D&D2024 rules or content. - new characters begin at the same level as the party - the party characters are locals to the region; a small, mostly human settlement - playable races are mostly kept to the core (Player's Handbook), though exceptions can and will be made on a case by case basis. Lore can be generated in-game for races if they are added - setting specific content (such as Ravnica, Strixhaven, and Theros) is not used - starting equipment is narrative; what makes sense for your character. This is worked out with the GM during the creation process - character attributes are rolled using a custom generation method. This method will generate characters with a weaker array, representing their more humble and less heroic origins - in contrast to generated lower stats, characters will gain additional attribute points at certain levels, eventually exceeding standard arrays
