Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Interested in learning how to play Dungeons & Dragons? Beginners are welcome and will be taught the rules and mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons as we play! No Character? No Problem! A character sheet can be provided, or we can make one together before the game! ---------------- The Game ---------------- We'll be playing the campaign, Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse where you find yourself in Sigil, the City of Doors where a devesting glitch has flooded the city. With our heroes waking up in Sigil with no memories, will they be able to fix this universe-wide glitch and save the Multiverse? Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse will take players' characters to level 10 with a bonus at the end. ---------------- House Rules ---------------- • Perfect Critical Hits: On a Natural 20, roll your damage dice normally and then add the full value of all the additional crit dice. (i.e. on a crit with a short sword, roll a d6+bonus and then add 6 (full value of the d6 damage dice). • Flanking +2: Flanking an enemy grants the attackers a +2 to their hit roll, NOT advantage. •Source Books: Using the 2024 Core Rule set, older books are available but Spells are being restricted to 2024 Core Rules Spells.
Game style
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
The current Party level is 7 with a Rogue, Warlock and a Paladin. In Planescape Adventures in the Multiverse, you will need three characters when you start. Normal table rules for our sessions apply to the character creation. You can use the same race for more than one character but they should all be different classes. They enter the adventure with no memory of their lives beyond superficial ones except that they're in Sigil because they died (no idea how they died though) Consider these questions for your character's backstory: 1. What was the greatest decision or turning point in your character’s life? If your character made a different decision, how might their life be different? How would they be different if they made choices based on others’ expectations? 2. What is something your character wishes they could change about themselves? How would the best version of themselves be different? 3. What is your character’s signature possession or physical trait? What makes you certain that your character would retain this no matter what could have happened in their life? TIP: The book recommends you make one character first, then pose the questions above and see how different outcomes of those questions may have led to your two other characters incarnations. When Incarnations die: When a character dies, the multiversal glitch restores one of that character’s incarnations of the player’s choice to life soon after. This incarnation must be different from the one who just died, but each incarnation doesn’t need to be played before a particular incarnation reappears. When an incarnation appears, they are attuned to any magic items the dead character was attuned to when they died. A dead character’s body doesn’t vanish when another incarnation manifests. Glitch characters can be affected by spells such as raise dead and resurrection until their next incarnation appears. Spells that permanently alter characters, such as reincarnate, continue to affect an incarnation even after they die and return.

How will character creation work
Players will need a character sheet before their first session. Players can: Players will make their characters on the DnD Beyond website. Players will start with a level 1 character or match the level of the party. Guidelines: - Standard Array/Point Buy Stats - Fixed/Average HP - Starting Equipment (additional equipment if starting at a higher level) - Prewritten Backgrounds - Personality traits (optional) - No chaotic-neutral/evil, please 😊 Restrictions: - Content will be limited to main-line D&D source books (i.e. no Magic the Gathering, Critical Role, or Dragonlance content without prior approval) - I would ask that races beyond the standard (i.e. elf, dwarf, tiefling) are run by me beforehand. Upon joining a campaign, you will receive a link to the DnDBeyond campaign where you can add your character and gain access to the source books I own. You will also receive an invitation to the private discord server where the games are held. Please have your character ready to go by your first session :-) We will be using the milestone leveling system, granting you a new level upon completion of different quests and story landmarks. New members will start at the same level as the party.
