About the adventure

The town of Sandpoint needs you! Come join the ranks of the many adventures who have saved Sandpoint. This is the first Pathfinder Adventure Path and has been added onto over the years. This adventure is still iconic for a reason. You will explore the country of Varisia as you work to save a sleepy port town. This adventure does contain mature themes and content so please be prepared for this. New players are always welcome! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me!

How to prepare

Players will need access to the Roll20 link, which will be provided in the Discord server, and Discord. A free account through both is all you will need. You will need some sort of mic to use in voice chat and probably headphones or speakers. The last major thing is a character concept but I'm happy to help with this. Knowledge of the rules is helpful but not required; I'm happy to teach new players. You will also need access to the free PDF Player's Guide; which will also be provided in the Discord server.

What I provide

We will be playing on Roll20 and using Discord for voice chat. I don't require anyone to be on video; I may occasionally turn on my video for you guys to see something, I also don't mind being on video if that is what the players prefer. We will be using the Paizo official maps and tokens. Any Pathfinder content is welcome; 3rd party content is on a case-by-case basis. I try to stick to rules as written as much as possible but I also want to give my players opportunities to be creative and have fun so feel free to pitch crazy ideas. For example, Pathfinder made the 5 foot step and action in 2e but I make an exception at my table that it is a free action. This is just one of my house rules that I feel makes things more fun for everyone.

Gameplay details

We will be starting with a session 0 and then a small module to get everyone introduced to each other. I ask that all players let me know if they have any content triggers or lines/veils prior to beginning or in session 0. I make adjustments to the content as necessary. During a session 0, players will introduce themselves to each other, create characters together, go over any house rules and player preferences in terms of roleplay or combat. I have an open door policy, meaning my players can come to me with any issues at any time without fear of judgement. I'm here to listen, support, and help however I can to create a fun game environment. After each session, I like to hear what the players enjoyed most or what they didn't enjoy so I can adjust future sessions to reflect this feedback. I also like to know if there is anything they would like to see in the future, any monsters they want to fight, any scenarios they would like to see for their character. I do my best to accommodate these requests within the story limits.

How will character creation work

Session 0 will be used to create characters together. You will all be level 1. Character creation can be done through any software or by hand. I'm happy to help anyone new learn how to build a character. I trust my players to handle their own characters and only check sheets when asked. I do double check character sheet at each level up before the next session to make sure everyone has leveled up. Again, I prefer to stick to official Paizo content but I'm willing to consider 3rd party content, you just have to ask me first.
