Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus | ( LBGTQ+ Friendly ) 1 - 13

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

🛡️Welcome to Baldur's Gate🛡️ a city of ambition and corruption. You’ve just started your adventuring career, but already find yourself embroiled in a plot that sprawls from the shadows of Baldur's Gate to the front lines of the planes-spanning Blood War! Do you have what it takes to turn infernal war machines and nefarious contracts against the archdevil Zariel and her diabolical hordes? And can you ever hope to find your way home safely when pitted against the infinite evils of the 🔥Nine Hells🔥? Baldur's Gate : Descent into Avernus is set in the Forgotten Realms and takes place from level 1 to level 13. The players will begin their time in Baldur's Gate and eventually be dragged into the realm of Avernus. The themes of the game will be drifting more towards fantasy, drama, and horror. We of course are human so there will be comedy sprinkled in as it is a good way to release the tension from difficult moments. There will be monstrous foes, eccentric NPCs, and terrible devils. Note that since this takes place using devils and being in hell, there will be body horror, gaslighting deals, and more of the classic terrible woes of 🔥Avernus🔥. If you're looking for a tale of adventure into hell and horrific beings and mutations then you've come to the right place! 🎲 My focus on games🎲 - Player Safety - Fun at the table - Heavy RP - Weaving Individual Backstory into the main plot - Keeping combat engaging and interesting. - Telling a fantastic story together, as we collaboratively weave a tale to remember!

Game style

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Recruiting notes

Our party has been pushing through the second chapter of the story and are currently level 6! Anyone ready to dive into this roleplay heavy, devil filled, dangerous adventure be sure to join us! We have a discord with a channel filled with detailed recap notes for any who are a bit too worried about feeling out of the loop on the story! For our tale the PCs are currently level 6! Current party is a Githyanki Cleric/Artificer, Half Elf bard, Goliath Fighter.

Additional details

How to prepare

Ensure that you have a decent mic so that other players can hear you properly for roleplaying. A camera is not required but is heavily recommended as it makes it easier for us to play and see one another's reactions to what we do so we avoid stepping on any toes and can get the most out of the virtual tabletop experience! Roll20 has character sheets, dice, and I have a number of modules loaded in so you can choose from an assortment for character creation.

What I provide

I will be bringing a Roll20 Pro account that includes maps, tokens, and a story that you'll remember for years! I also have Syrinscape where I will have custom crafted music and ambience soundscapes to fit the different scenes and improve immersion. I do character voices and am a very big fan of backstory of individual characters being melded into the main plot. We will also have art handouts for many of the characters you'll meet, areas you go to, and items you find! We will be using Discord as a centralized hub for conversation and posting pictures& information on the game itself. For video chatting I have a pro zoom account that has built in noise reduction to help improve our online experience.

Gameplay details

In session zero we will go over safety tools, best practices, house rules, and will discuss character creation and get to know one another. We will anonymously go over everyone's lines and veils and ensure that we have a safe and respectful game. I have an open door policy, if you need miss sessions that is fine just let me know so I can make sure you are not charged. Also if there are ever issues during gameplay I am more than happy to talk about it during or after the session.

How will character creation work

We will be using a point buy system for you to create your 1st level character. If you're joining later in the game we will still use the point buy but I will allot gold so you can buy some magic items to be on par with everyone else! I am available to help with character creation outside the game, so feel free to ask me as many questions as you'd like!
