About the adventure
Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk takes the beginner adventure, and expands the original tale into a campaign that runs from level 1 to 12. This is an excellent place for any newcomer to tabletop gaming to step in and become part of the tale. You battle fearless goblins, meet a wide cast of locals that are ready to help you out, and uncover a plot from deep below that will decide the fate of all above and below! Who knows what lives down there? Welcome to Phandalin! Quiet and charming, the village sits nestled in the embrace of the Sword Mountains, just a ten-day's ride south from the metropolis of Neverwinter. Abandoned for centuries and just recently revived, this is where farmers toil out their days for a modest reward and people from all over the Sword Coast come to find some peace! You seek adventure and a reward, as Phandalin has been troubled by some meddlesome goblins who accost travelers and merchants alike along the nearby road. Voices on the wind have traveled far and say the local business folk have a reward for whoever ends this threat and brings Phandalin back to its peaceful state. Ready to create your story? Jump right in!
Character sheets will be setup in Foundry VTT, I can help to move the sheet over from D&D Beyond. We play using the 2024 rules, so avoid legacy spells and items. Current group excited to start: Sorcerer, Fighter, and a Druid

How to prepare
✔ Signup to Discord, and get to know your fellow adventurers. ✔ Get familiar with the Rules and your characters build. ✔ Get setup where you can avoid background noise. ✔ Get in contact asap, so we can get you set up.
What I provide
✔ A living world with rich, dynamic, and captivating story arcs. Clever adversaries with challenging strategic encounters. All presented using tactical maps or theater of the mind scenes with dynamic soundscapes and music to set the mood. ✔ An adventure to make your own, where all can find a reason to keep the lands safe and deal with those that threaten it.
Gameplay details
✔ We play using Discord for voice and Foundry VTT for visuals, sheets, and dice. A decent personal computer is required; tablets and phones are not recommended to run these tools during a session. Foundry VTT is configured with minimal automation. ✔ Session zero is used to get a short intro, go over character backgrounds, and possible links between characters as they meet up to head to the house. People starting later will get a private session zero so they can jump in. ✔ Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the troubles of our daily lives. Members of the party are expected to work as a team while being open and respectful to all. Real-world prejudices, such as racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia, are NOT acceptable and will lead to your removal.

How will character creation work
✔ We will stick to the 2024 rule books for this game. No extra sources are allowed. ✔ Character creation can happen on D&D Beyond or within Foundry VTT. I will help you move characters from D&D Beyond to Foundry VTT when needed. ✔ We will not be using the link between foundry and D&D beyond. If required, I will take some time getting you familiar with the Foundry VTT character sheets.
