About the adventure

Step into the bustling streets of Waterdeep, the crown jewel of the Forgotten Realms, where intrigue, danger, and opportunity lurk around every corner. In Dragon Heist, you'll embark on a thrilling urban adventure that combines deep mysteries, thrilling chases, and high-stakes social encounters. Whether you're uncovering hidden conspiracies, forging alliances with powerful factions, or matching wits with deadly villains, Waterdeep offers endless possibilities for clever roleplay and tactical thinking. This is a branching adventure with multiple paths to explore, ensuring that every decision matters. Your party will interact with a rich cast of unforgettable characters, both new and iconic, each with their own secrets and agendas. As you rise in the ranks of Waterdeep’s many factions, you’ll need to navigate the complex web of politics and power while keeping a close eye on the terrifying forces moving in the shadows—each more dangerous than the last. I’m an experienced DM who has run Dragon Heist multiple times, and I know how to tailor the adventure to fit your group’s style, whether you prefer a focus on social intrigue, combat, or a mix of both. This campaign uses the 2024 version of the Player’s Handbook, and you’ll have full access to it via D&D Beyond to create your characters. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to D&D, expect a fresh and exciting take on this iconic adventure! Dragon Heist is perfect for those who love a mix of roleplay, mystery, and danger, and no two campaigns are ever the same. Ready to make your mark on Waterdeep and claim a fortune—if you can survive the dangers that lie ahead?

How to prepare

You will need a mic, Discord for voice chat, and a D&D Beyond account.

What I provide

I have access to a decent selection of books on D&D Beyond, including the brand new 2024 Player's Handbook, and will get a Master Tier subscription so I can share these with you. We will use Roll20 for our VTT. Combat will be quick, dynamic, and intense. I like to embrace the Rule of Cool and say yes to players who want to try something outside the bounds of the rules.

Gameplay details

Session 0 will include talk of themes, expectations, and the lines and veils form. We will also do character creation together. Each session will feature a break about halfway through.
