Alien: Heart of Darkness
Alien: The Roleplaying Game | Campaign
About the adventure
Heart of Darkness is a Cinematic Scenario for the ALIEN Roleplaying Game written by Andrew E. C. Gaska. You’re an international science team, handpicked by Weyland-Yutani to investigate a new form of life. It’s a survey, sample, and assay job—but one where you were offffered book deals, benefifits, university tenure, and lots of money to accept. You were hastily contracted and transported past the Outer Rim aboard an understaffffed plasma trawler called Cetorhina. After a three-month cryosleep trip, you’ve arrived at your destination.
Session Zero is free to all players. WHAT’S THE STORY, MOTHER? You’re an international science team, handpicked by Weyland-Yutani to investigate a new form of life. Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Sets the Mood
Storytelling
Creativity
Dylath facilitates immersive role-play and brings the world around the players to life with stunning visual aids and descriptions; players taste the food and smell the streets, and interact with NPCs who are engaged in the unfolding adventure. Probably not the guy for murder hobos, for great for the rest of us!
Dylath is an incredible DM. He gets really into the heart of the scenario with images, music and intense characterisation. He’s not afraid to let the story breathe and the players develop their own paths, and it never feels railroaded. He’s great at making sure everyone’s involved, and it’s always feels like a collaborative storytelling experience rather than adversarial. He has a rich understanding of psychological horror and terror that never trips into being gratuitous, but also a verisimilitude of Keeping which makes it feel like his players are being immersed in a world barely a shade away from our own.
