About the adventure

Welcome to the Final Frontier! These are the voyages of…YOU! We will be starting in the 'Strange New Worlds' Era and moving forward in a 'planet of the week' type format where some weeks the problem might be a spacial anomaly; an undiscovered life form; other weeks the situation might be a critical confrontation on a frontier world, and some weeks, the problem actually be a monster. This format lets us easily rotate which character(s) in the group gets the spotlight and lets us use the innovative rules of the Star Fleet Adventures Game to build out your starship's crew and an extended web of unique NPCs for you to interact with making each STA campaign unique from any other.

How to prepare

Players must have a computer with a modern web browser that is compatible with Foundry VTT and a broadband internet connection for that computer. I suggest the Foundry Light Client (a free download), but it is not required. Players will need a free Discord account to communicate during and between games and a Push-to-Talk button set up.

Gameplay details

This campaign has content consistent with a Star Trek series, somewhere between Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Lower Decks. There are descriptions and discussions about potential bodily harm, violence, warfare, disease, economic hardship, science, social justice, mathematics, politics, and alien cultures in what might be regarded TV-MA presentation. If any of these topics are a red line for you, this campaign might not be a good fit. We will use a Yellow Card—Red Card system that any player can utilize if the scene is getting too intense; the use of these cards is done through clicking on an icon on the Fantasy Grounds screen, it is anonymous which player presented the card, but I will take immediate action when one is presented. A Yellow Card lets us fade-to-black and continue with the story on the other side of the disturbing content; a Red Card stops the game and invokes a 15-minute break. After the break, we can discuss what was going wrong and how we can best fix it for the group.

How will character creation work

Players may work with the GM to do a run-through of their academy days where the character will be created during play, or they can make a new ensign using the official character generator at: https://sta.modiphiusapps.hostinguk.org/ we are starting in the mid-22nd century so the only races currently available are Human, Andorian, Denobulan, Tellarite, or Vulcan. Your new character must be an Ensign with the Young Officer talent.
