And though the world already has plenty of heroes, they can't be everywhere all at once. In these moments, new heroes rise, facing the challenges that slip through the cracks. And sometimes, those challenges create new heroes who must take up the mantle to save the fabric of reality itself! While this game will feature MARVEL characters, they exist in a variant universe of our own creation and may not reflect "standard" canon or lore. 😎 Vibe Check: 😎 This is a new game, with the vibe to be set by the first group of players. I generally run a relaxing table where players are free to experiment and tell their superhero stories! I provide everything needed besides a working microphone, access to Discord, and a computer capable of running Roll20. Before the campaign, players will be asked to fill out a survey about lines, veils, and consent preferences. Let's have a great time dreaming and adventuring together! Learn to play this easy-to-use, innovative narrative-stat system while unleashing your inner hero! From the streets of New York to Ancient Egypt to the Beginning of Time, show who you are against some of the greatest Marvel villains of all time in our own variant universe where every decision is ours to make! You will work with the Narrator/GM to develop a character at Rank 2, either an original character, or as a variant-version of one of your favorite Marvel characters. As we progress through the story, you'll have the opportunity to grow your character your way or to hand off to a higher-ranked character.

How to prepare
All players must have a microphone and a relatively distraction-free environment. Ideally, all players also have a working webcam and are willing to use it. Games will be played in Roll20. Players should have a Roll20 account before game time.

Gameplay details
The Cataclysm of Kang is a fast-paced adventure in our version of the Marvel universe. Starting with your origin story, you'll grow and harness your power to the ends of the multiverse! The game is appropriate for mature audiences interested in exploring and rewriting our own variant of the multiverse. The goal of this game is to have fun. Players' safety and mental health are crucial; all players will always have access to safety tools. Players will be given an RPG checklist before the game to indicate any lines and veils they may have and can update these at any time with no explanation necessary. Additionally, all players will have multiple means to utilize the X card, including on video, VTT, chat, and with a Discord emoji.

How will character creation work
Players can select a pre-existing Marvel character or make their own. We will start at Rank 1 with the character's origin story, and we will have a session 0 to discuss how the characters are related and know each other. Players should come with an open mind and be willing to discuss their concepts with the team before signing on.
