About me
I've been playing various forms of role-playing games formally for more than 2 decades, including online, written, table top, and more, while informally, I've been playing and performing roles all my life. I love creating and sharing stories, all the more so when the players truly become part of the world by surprising me with their choices. Professionally, I have a background in history and am a recently-recovering educator, and I bring both to the gaming table by helping players learn the game and developing unique and non-standard worlds and stories while using a teach-as-we-go method for new players.

Creating your character
Players will meet with the DM in a one-on-one session 0 prior to the game, and will be able to build their character using applicable 2024 and expanded rules sources, as listed below. Players will work with the DM to ensure their characters align with the lore of Illaxia (e.g. homeland based on species, background, and class; appropriate religion/deities, etc.). A quick guide to the basics of Illaxia will be available for interested players. Note that the DM reserves the right to limit the number of players who may take specific character options (including subclasses, classes, backgrounds, and rarer species) to ensure game balance and give each character a chance to shine as part of the team. Character creation will follow the 2024 Players' Handbook ruleset. All options in the 2024 PHB are available, as are the subclasses and spells from Xanathar's Guide to Everything and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (adapted to the 2024 ruleset). Species are divided into Common and Rare. Common species can be found in most areas of the world, while Rare species may come from only one or two regions and may be limited. Species may be found in the 2024 PHB or Mordenkainan's Monsters of the Multiverse (adapted to the 2024 ruleset): COMMON SPECIES β’ Dragonborn (PHB) β’ Dwarf (PHB) β’ Genasi (MM) β’ Gnome (PHB) β’ Human (PHB) β’ Kobold (MM) β’ Orc (PHB) β’ Tiefling (PHB) RARE SPECIES β’ Aasimar (PHB) β’ Elf (PHB) β’ Firbolg (MM) β’ Goblin (MM) β’ Goliath (PHB) β’ Halfling (PHB) β’ Lizardfolk (MM) β’ Sea Elf (MM) β’ Triton (MM) β’ Yuan-Ti (MM)
This game and team features heavy roleplay and a dedication to the story and adventure. If you like a deep and immersive game with plenty of opportunity to explore the lore and feel of an original world, this is the game for you! Note that this game moves at the pace of the team, with opportunities for the team to explore, though events may continue apace. Characters are encouraged to role play amongst each other to discuss the best way forward as a group. As this is a game in progress, new characters will be introduced at the most appropriate interval, as soon as practical. The DM will work with new players to set the appropriate expectation.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players must have a microphone and a relatively distraction-free environment. Ideally, all players also have a working webcam and are willing to use it. Games will be played in Roll20, with character sheets and die rolling on D&D Beyond. Players should have a Roll20 and D&D Beyond accounts before game time.
What Delphi brings to the table

How Delphi creates a safe table
Rise of the Dragonauts is a moderately paced classic Dungeons and Dragons adventure set in a custom realm of knights, princes, and dragons. The game is appropriate for mature audiences interested in exploring the frontier and societal challenges of a proud and ancient kingdom during a period of transition. The goal of this game is to have fun. Players' safety and mental health are crucial; all players will always have access to safety tools.
