About the adventure
Welcome to Hobbit Weekend! The Hobbit was published on September 21, and Bilbo and Frodo's birthday is September 22, that makes this a whole weekend for hobbits! This will be a one shot adventure from the Shire Adventures book played with up to 6 pre-made characters; Drogo Baggins, Esmerelda Took, Lobelia Bracegirdle, Paladin Took II, Primula Brandybuck, and Rorimac Brandybuck as they meet at Mad Bagginses house to form a conspiracy! How to prepare
You should have a discord account and a communication device equipped with a microphone. If you would like to roleplay on camera having a camera would also help, though I won't require it. I will send out character options, they will be first come, first choice as people sign up to play. Try to read up, or look up on youtube videos describing the mechanical differences if you haven't played the Lord of the Rings Roleplaying 5e game before.
What I provide
This will be mostly a Roleplay and exploration game so I'll run it mostly Theater of the mind. YOU should have a pencil, discord, a camera and a microphone (tablet or laptop with camera and microphones), and a set of standard D20 dice. I will provide the pre-generated character sheets ahead of time so you can print your sheet, or keep it on a digital screen. I will upload art from the book as we play. I will try to give each character a unique voice; Forgive me when, at approximately 45 seconds, they all turn into Scottish accents, so my friends say. I heartily endorse being in character, costume, and in this case consuming food, drink, and Old Tobey if the player wishes.
Gameplay details
This is a role-play and exploration focused adventure set within the Shire, expect the stakes to be Shire level stakes, and while combat can happen, it isn't the focus, and can usually be avoided. I don't anticipate anything more dangerous or triggering than the first two hours of Fellowship, or Unexpected journey. I will make Monte Cook's checklist available ahead of time, and players will be able to privately message X,N, or O as well as an after session discussion of stars and wishes. Also, I will likely have some music, sound effects, or background art in order to build the mood, if you have trouble concentrating with music, or if it triggers you to hear music while playing a TTRPG, be advised now.

How will character creation work
All characters are pre-generated to go along with the adventure, however, familiarity with the Lord of the Rings Roleplaying 5e mechanics will help. While the system is very similar to 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons, there are changes to classes, as well as a new shadow mechanic.
