How to prepare

This is an asynchronous play-by-post game played by Discord with the Avrae bot. This means that posts will be made throughout the week; it's to the pace of the group. All playing will be done by text, making things accessible for those who aren't able to use voice. I will update at least daily. You will get to experience the story and the roleplay, while also learning about--or getting more experience with--play-by-post format and Avrae. You do not need to know Avrae, or any of the other tools. I can teach you. What I provide

Enigma, your DM, brings over 20 years of text roleplay experience and utilizes various tools to craft an unforgettable experience as he blends his skills with forum-based roleplay as well as dice-based roleplay. In his games, you can expect: 🔹 Personalized character backstories woven into a unique narrative 🔹 A dynamic world that reacts to the party's choices and interactions 🔹 Engaging and challenging combat with boons, magic items, and scaled monsters 🔹 NPCs with distinct personalities and motivations, offering opportunities for friendships, rivalries, and even romance (with consent) 🔹 Customized rivals to oppose the party at every turn 🔹 Additional monsters from various sources and custom content from the DM and third-parties 🔹 Pre-generated characters or concepts for those who prefer not to create their own Dreams will bring their knowledge of Avrae VTT and share resources with Enigma to enhance the overall experience.

Gameplay details

Dreams is trans and queer, Enigma is LGBTQIA+, and we are both neurodivergent. We hope to make a place where all can feel accepted, regardless of race, gender, beliefs. 👨🏾‍🦲♾️🏳️‍🌈 Safety tools will always be in effect; this game is a safe and inclusive place. We will use safety cards, Monte-Cooke consent form, lines and veils, and any other safety tools the group needs. Both Enigma and Dreams are neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+, and seek to provide a safe table for all players. Accessibility is a big part of the game, and accommodations will be made to meet your needs so that you can have fun. How will character creation work

You may play a 2024-build character, or 2014-build character! The choice is up to you, and we have both options. So either the new Player's Handbook or the older one! ╭──────────.★..─╮ Characters ╰─..★.──────────╯ 🔹Your PC must have a reason to go on adventures with the group. 🔹 Start at Level 5. 🔹 Use this array: 18, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9 🔹 All characters will receive one free feat, with variant humans and custom lineages receiving an additional free uncommon magic item instead of their racial feat. 🔹 Choose one rare magic item, two uncommon magic items, and two common magic items from any WotC source. 🔹 Start with 300 gold and starting equipment. 🔹 You may choose from all races, classes, backgrounds, and other PC options in any officially released D&D 5e product. (see below for custom/homebrew/third-party/unearthed arcana). 🔹 You are also free to use content from the Doomed Forgotten Realms character options. ╭──────────.★..─╮ Homebrew ╰─..★.──────────╯ In addition to the standard character creation rules, players are welcome to use third-party or homebrew (custom) content. Enigma only asks that you speak with him one-on-one about it. He will tweak it for the sake of balance and making the game fun and fair for all.
