Pirates of Many Things: Eberron Edition

Pirates of Many Things: Eberron Edition

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Welcome to the high seas of Eberron, where all manner of adventure can happen. This is a drop-in drop-out style of campaign where I write and perform an ongoing series of small adventures using inspiration from the new and improved Deck of Many Things. Join us for a few sessions, or stick around and watch heroes reach the highest levels of power and notoriety. This campaign will begin at level 3 somewhere at sea in the world of Eberron. We will engage with other ships, explore lost islands, and attempt to out run the most sophisticated wave runners the seas of Khorvaire have ever seen. Maybe you'll be honorable privateers, hoping to enact some sort of political change through your adventures by sinking enemy ships and retrieving magic items from lost ages. Maybe you'll be buccaneers, taking what you can and vanquishing all who stand in your way. Perhaps both? The Bitter Sea doesn't judge. The Pirates of Many Things welcome all skill levels and backgrounds. So long as we have at least 3 characters, we sail! Climb aboard and see the world!

I've been playing D&D for over 40 years and this was, without a doubt, the best session I’ve ever experienced. truly! The storytelling was masterfully woven around the card draws, creating a dynamic and immersive noir narrative. The music choices perfectly set the tone, and the detective-style monologues at the beginning and end were absolute highlights. Every element—from pacing to atmosphere—was spot-on. Highly recommended!

Dudley is great at story telling. I joined the Streets of Sharn and as a beginner, he was friendly and help explain anything I didn't quiet understand. Any time I had questions about certain skills, he was more than happy to explain it and help move it along with the story flow. I have to say I really thought the explanation of things at the end of a session were really great details on how the story had unfold, especially in the Streets of Sharn one shots.

Dudley is one of my top favorites. Period. He is a master at storytelling and placing you right in the middle of the scene where you can visualize and sense each description with crystal-clear detail, down to the sounds and smells. He orchestrates intricate and compelling adventures that leave me on the edge of my seat every session and improvises effortlessly. His NPCs are always superbly voiced with engaging dialogue, and his knowledge of the rules makes for smooth pacing both in and out of combat. In short, do NOT hesitate to play at Dudley's table. You are guaranteed a first-class experience.

Just finished playing a Streets of Sigil one-shot. It was tons of fun. It didn't use a Roll20 map or anything like that but it didn't need to. I really enjoyed the GM's "Theater of the Mind" style.

Dudley is a great story teller. I was uncertain about doing theater of the mind style DnD, having on played with visuals and measurement. Was definitely surprised at how engaging and vivid he made the scenarios. His use of the Deck of Many Things to divinely cobble a cohesive story out of the cards we pull at the session start was intriguing and impressive. At the end he explained how each card influenced the adventure we took. I would definitely recommend and hope to play with Dudley again.

Additional details

How to prepare

A microphone and a decent internet connection are a requirement. Cameras are great but not mandatory. I'm available through Discord to offer guidance on character creation.

What I provide

I do character voices and use a bot to play ambient music. I don't believe in VTTs because they only tell us what we can't do, all of campaigns are Theatre of the Mind. I tell stories first and enforce rules second.

Gameplay details

I always start my campaigns with a session zero, so we can get to know one another and take the time to fully understand each character's motivation and goals.

How will character creation work

Feel free to build a character on your own, of if you can make it to session zero you can build your character then with everyone else. If you are joining the campaign while it is already underway check in with me regarding what level we're currently so that you may build your character accordingly.
