The Road to Starfall Festival | A Fablecraft Starter Adventure
About the adventure
You are a Mage in the Long Meadows: a rolling, expansive grassland plain where breathtaking star showers are a regular occurrence. For generations, nomadic Prides have been harvesting the raw, magical star fragments that fall in this region. You and other Mages have been hired by Dill Tallgrass, leader of the Tallgrass Pride, to chaperone his 6-caravan convoy to the Starfall Festival in the Celestial Plain. The Pride is transporting a sacred and valuable ceremonial instrument called the Star Seeker. However, there has been an uptick in bandit attacks in the area - you and the other mages have been hired as extra security. Can you ensure that the Star Seeker gets to the Starfall Festival in time? Or will the various mystical creatures and bandits stop you along the way? The Road to Starfall Festival is designed to be the perfect introductory adventure for Fablecraft. This is a guided introduction to the Fablecraft system and introduces skill rolls, combat, and world lore at a steady, easy-to-follow pace. We will be running this adventure as a one-shot, getting as far into the Road to Starfall Festival as possible to showcase the experience of Fablecraft.

About me
Dungeon Master with 20+ years of experience. Started back in the early 2000s playing D&D 3.5 followed by ShadowRun and Pathfinder. I love being a GM that guides collaborative story-telling and explores the creativity of players through encounters and roleplaying. I dabble in a lot of different systems but have primarily focused the last few years in D&D 5th Edition and Pathfinder 2.

If I could rate this man 6 stars, I would. We started off with a mysterious letter in the mail, directing us to our adventure's start. This intriguing thread lead to our party going on an epic adventure that featured memorable villains, excellent plot twists, and legitimately enjoyable puzzle and RP sections. Couple that with challenging combat that will force your party to think outside of the box (no joke, we dropped a whale from 100+ feet on our BBEG. I could not recommend higher for anyone looking to book a GM to run a fun campaign you and your friends will be talking about months later.
Bob is literally the best GM I’ve ever played with. He constantly makes an effort to involve every character, and to give every character a chance to shine. He includes humor, horror, and genuine emotion in his campaigns. Oftentimes his games will feature deeply integrated lore, story twists, and multi-dimensional characters. Bob has run multiple campaigns for myself and my friends, including D&D, WoD, Shadowrun, and more. Each one has been both engaging and also memorable. They’re the sort of games you talk about with your friends for months afterwards. His games are cinematic, expansive, and full of fun. The only thing you should worry about is that you won’t be able to go back to your old GMs.
Bob is an amazing and considerate game master. His knowledge of 5e was very vast and fairly implemented. He allowed players to enact cinematic role play, allowing for some rule of cool to happen while still staying firm enough on the rules of the game. His descriptions of areas mundane and fantastical carried an element of wonder and intrigue for the cast of players while not being in the realm of long winded explanation. His combats were fun and challenging and while still being friendly to a new player in the group. Characters were voiced by Bob and were believable and independently crafted. I have had the privilege to have many game masters in my lifetime as a veteran to most D&D systems going back to the days of THACO and old Hackmaster adventures as well as gen con D&D events. Bob easily ranks in the top 3 gms I have ever played with if not the best. My character died in his adventure, and still I felt included in the session even while my character did not. Bob has earned this 5 star review and I can recommend him to anyone veteran or new as story teller and game master. If I could check off every box for the GM tags I would.
I was completely new to the world of table top gaming when I started playing with Bob as GM. He made me feel involved and connected to the campaign immediately and gave so much support as a new player. I've now been playing for several years with Bob as a GM through a number of campaigns, systems and one-shot games. Bob is an incredible story teller, his ability to create an immersive experience is unreal. If you want your character to do something cool, Bob will find a way to make it happen and I guarantee you will feel like the MVP! The games themselves have something for all types of players, if you want to role play, focus on mechanics, min/max your character or just explore a beautiful world created just for you and your party Bob is your GM.
