About the adventure

It began with you accepting a simple caravan security job across the desert, only for you to uncover a mysterious threat over the horizon. Danger is approaching, and this small town is in desperate need of heroes. Will you be one of them? This is a 7-session campaign that spans 1st to 4th level, the first tier of play which is perfect for new players. It begins with a delivery journey to a central location, while the rest of the campaign happens there and in its surrounding areas. Each adventure focuses on a balanced play experience, and it culminates in a decisive battle for the fate of the town. We'll be using Discord and Roll20 (permitting D&D Beyond and Beyond20). Players must bring an Adventurers League (AL) character following current character creation guidelines, and players brand new to AL will start this campaign at 1st level. Roll20 content sharing will be available to the extent the DM can provide. Post-game session re-zeros and safety tools will be implemented. -------- Welcome and we hope you enjoy some of our Home Game in the Cloud sessions! We know that sometimes cramming multiple games into a single weekend each month isn't the right choice for every group and every adventure. In order to facilitate more games every month, we're adding some different ways of setting up longer-form adventuring. For this adventure, you will be purchasing individual game sessions every third week for seven or more sessions (with some potential breaks where other events interfere with the schedule). Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will follow the current guidelines of D&D Adventurers League, with DM guidance as needed. Adventurers League Player's Guide available here https://baldman.link/alpg

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will need the following from my players: - Roll20 account - Joining the Baldman Games community Discord server ( https://discord.gg/bmg ) - An AL-compliant character sheet and logsheet (DM guidance available) - Working audio equipment (mic, earphones/headphones/headset) - Roll20 character sheet or D&D Beyond character sheet - Installed Beyond20 browser extension if using a D&D Beyond sheet https://discord.gg/bmg When paying for your first game, please make sure to include your discord username in a direct message to BMG . Games will be organized on the Baldman Games Community Server on discord. Please be sure to join us there, indicate interest in Home Game in the Cloud during set up, and reach out using the #home-game-chat channel where your GM can grant you access to your game channel. https://baldmangames.com/hgitc/ For more information of Home Game in the Cloud please check out our website.

What Baldman Games brings to the table

I keep my games balanced, as all things should be, though my style is flexible enough to accommodate the group's preference, playstyle, and level of experience among other things. I'm used to DMing for both newbies and experienced players who've been in this hobby longer than I've been alive. I use Discord for audio and Roll20 for simple tokens, maps, ambient music, handouts, and basic macros. Limited Roll20 content sharing will also be available. Dynamic lighting is optional and dependent on the group's devices. Complying with organized play, I default to Rules as Written, but I also use the Rule of Cool if the situation calls for it as I believe those two aren't mutually exclusive. With working knowledge of the rules, I encourage player retention as part of the learning experience. At the same time, I believe knowledge of one's character will open more opportunities for the shenanigans we love so much.

Safety

How Baldman Games creates a safe table

I use a combination of the X-N-O cards and the traffic light safety tool systems, which will be introduced to players at the start of every session. These will be enabled digitally, from macros to dealt cards on Roll20. Every session will have 2-3 breaks, and players will be allowed to walk away from their keyboard (AFK) if needed, and they can simply notify when they return. The group will have post-game aftercare and debriefing if the players are comfortable doing so. The DM is also open to private debriefing if preferred. A Stars and Wishes template will be sent to every player after sessions, which they can fill out privately. The DM will also check in during debriefing if the Wishes have been fulfilled.
