About the adventure

A new generation of superheroes discovers the truth of what too much power can do to people. The line between Halcyon City's guardians and the villains they fight is thinner than these teens could have imagined. This will be a game about teen superheroes discovering ugly truths about the world they live in versus the world they thought they lived in. It's more The Boys than Superman. People your characters love will probably die, but they still have an Algebra test tomorrow, because they're in high school.

About me

Hi! I'm Tristan (he/they). I podcast, I read books, I have chronic migraines, and I crochet more blankets than can be used by any one person in a hot climate. Oh, and I play/run ttrpgs. Like a lot of people, I started out in college with Dungeons and Dragons. I was especially captivated by the role-playing aspects and party dynamics. Circumstances conspired against me, and I didn't get to play any ttrpgs again until about 2017. I've been playing steadily ever since, and within the last couple of years I've gotten really brave and started running a few different games. My favorites are rules-light systems that have a heavy emphasis on character and story. My games are queer, trans, and disabled person-friendly. (I'm all of those things, so it would be really weird if I wasn't inclusive.) I love collaboration, so my players are able to really shape the world around their characters.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is the other thing I plan to do in Session 0. We'll message back and forth before then, and if everybody has a clear idea of what they want to do, we might even have characters before session 0!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need to come to session 0 with is a few ideas about what types of character you'd like to play. The rules will be linked beforehand, but it's ok if you haven't read through all of them (or any of them).

What Tristan Ash brings to the table

I have rules reference sheets and a pdf of the playbooks that I can share. Story is always, always more important than the rules, so don't worry if you can't remember them all (real talk - I struggle with that, too). I will attempt to find online character sheets, too. Everything will be linked in the Discord.

How Tristan Ash creates a safe table

We're going to go over the safety tools in session 0, but feel free to message me with what you want to see in the game and what you absolutely do NOT want to see in the game beforehand. I'll make a document listing our lines and veils and pin it in the Discord.
