About the adventure
Knights and wizards have defended the Kingdom of Myth for centuries. These lands have known peace and prosperity, but soon the Kingdom will be no more. The prophets have declared that your city shall burn and Myth will fall. All those who follow your king shall die. It is inevitable. But you shall defy fate. Myth will not end while you bear arms. You will fail, but as long as there are still stories, they will sing of you. Inevitable is a tale of monarchy, mythology, power, and prophecy. Play as a doomed knight of a failing Kingdom and fight against all odds to defeat the oncoming Doom that threatens to destroy all you hold dear. Know that this is a game about Pyrrhic victories: successes at increasingly great costs, sacrificing for benefits you may never know, and going down in legend as someone who was faced with the Inevitable and still tried to stop it from coming to pass — and after all, what’s the phrase? “Heroes die, but legends never do.” Rules as written, this campaign is projected to run approximately 720 hours, or roughly 6 months of 3-hour sessions.

About me
Hi! I’m Abadonne Darlington D’Artagnan Kilbride, IV and I would absolutely love to run a game for you. I’m a creature of myth, Gorgon of old, TTRPG streamer, writer, creator, and Founder at Exquisite Corpse Presents: A Home For Unusual Stories . In the effort to become the confessional poet of tabletop role playing I write, produce, and run Say a Prayer for California: Sister Cities, a post-apocalyptic dystopian DnD 5e homebrew, and La Naissance D'Une Reine, a Thirsty Sword Lesbians homebrew set in the years following the death of King Arthur. I’m a founding cast member of Blackness and Dragons and has appeared on Going Critical RPG as Loset Lee, Lore Everlasting as Petra Pellucid and Siddalee Ware, and on the fully-crowdfunded A Tale of Two Lions hosted by @AnoriandGD. My written work can be found in BeNeverending’s anthology, Anansi’s Tapestry of Lives, and my confessional chapbook Styx River Anthology is available on Bandcamp.

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during our Session Zero as a guided group exercise so that everyone has a hand in building the adventure we’re embarking on together!

What Abadonne brings to the table
As your Storyteller, my primary goal is to provide you with all the tools you need to set off on a completely unique adventure that tests your wits and gets your heart racing. I’ll work with you to build a character you can enjoy growing into over time and tease out meaningful connections between your character and the world as we go to ensure that this is truly YOUR story, not just another module to play. I’ll provide the sourcebook necessary for both systems along with any supplemental texts of note. We’ll be starting at level one so everyone can build a common vernacular within the systems before we get into the really bonkers material, so have no fear if you’ve never played one or both! Our 30 minute post-session debrief will act as both a cooldown exercise and a chance for me as Storyteller to get a gauge on the playability of this mashup! I’ll have questions for you pertaining to each session, your characters, the setting, etc and your answers will hopefully help us refine this into a truly unique setting.
Safety
How Abadonne creates a safe table
Players can expect to be sent a link to the Monte Cook RPG Lines & Veils document, which we will go over as a group during Session 0. X/N/O cards can be utilized visually over Discord or in chat at any time (for the sake of commonality we will be using the 'Traffic Light' red-yellow-green system, but these terms can be called out or held up with a card in a corresponding color), and this table is an open table so should you need to leave for any reason please feel empowered to do so, with or without explanation. That being said, I invite you to reach out to me personally and express your concerns to see if I can address them at or above the table - my priority as the facilitator of this game is your fun, so please feel free to let me know how I can help you tell the story you want to tell. PLEASE NOTE that the above Content Warnings tagged are listed with regard to anything that *might* come up or perhaps be an element of a darker setting - our session zero will determine the content warnings specific to your party and your level of comfort. Our session zero will last approximately 3 hours and include safety tools/lines & veils, character creation & party bonds, discussion of mechanics, and learning about the world of Inevitable/where your characters will fit into it!
