About the adventure
Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against ancient stone walls. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases. She knows you are coming, and she knows why you have come—all according to her plan. She, a vampire, will attend to your fragile little party. The Countess of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited. --- A lightly modified version of the famous Dungeons & Dragons 5e module Curse of Strahd. A dark, 18+ gothic horror campaign featuring vampires, zombies, and undead galore, with a focus on roleplay and character development. Custom content will be added according to campaign characters! Campaign is expected to last ~1 year depending on party choices. Bonus: Strahd is an enormous, muscular LGBT+ woman on the level of Striga from Castlevania Season 3. What more could you want?

About me
After working retail for half a decade, I realized that using my 10+ years as a DM could be much more lucrative and enjoyable than going back to cashiering! I host a range of roleplay-heavy games with immersive worldbuilding and wild shenanigans! My players tend to fear me, love me, or both. <3

Creating your character
Brainstorm 1-3 character ideas before Session 0. During Session 0, we will finalize your characters over voice/video chat on the Discord channel I've made for you. Refer to the D&D 5e Player's Handbook. I'm open to unofficial content, but I reserve the right to reject homebrew subclasses for the sake of balance. You will be starting at Level 2! The $20 for Session 0 is considered payment for the guided character creation and the custom tokens I will draw of your characters for Session 1. <3 Stats will be rolled and selected from up to four different sets of stats (if you don't know what this means, I will elaborate during Session 0).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- A steady internet connection - Discord Account (https://discord.com/) - Roll20 Account (https://roll20.net) - Working microphone for voice chat - Working webcam I would prefer a webcam and mic, as this will be a roleplay-heavy game and being able to see faces and body language makes for easier discussion. Webcam is not necessary but it is highly preferred. Game will be hosted on Roll20, so make an account! I have a Pro subscription for dynamic lighting and all the basic content for the Curse of Strahd module, plus any custom content made specifically for my players. I will work closely with all of you to make custom characters and tokens! The content of the game you join will also be tailored to the group, so you can have fun with your spooky backstories within the module!
What Vivian G. brings to the table
With 10+ years of experience as a DM, I am experienced with character voices, improvisation, and custom maps/tokens. I utilize ambient music as well! My combat ranges from easy (mowing down minions) to intense, tactical boss battles, and is usually used to shape and enhance the story rather than for the sake of combat itself. While I happily embrace the Rule of Cool, but use Rules as Written to balance out any "broken" mechanics. With me, Natural 20s are always a supernatural success and Natural 1s are always a hilarious failure.

How Vivian G. creates a safe table
Since Curse of Strahd is a horror-heavy game, Session 0 will be covering my players' lines and veils, a trigger discussion, and character brainstorming to make sure that exploring their backstories don't conflict with those lines and veils. In addition, I will be sending a Monte Cook Consent Checklist to each player to be filled out before Session 1. My X, N, & O's can be messaged over Discord or said on video if necessary during session.
