“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Your first session with us will be FREE. The game is played weekly on Thursdays. We will play on Discord, Foundry VTT (Forge VTT) and D&DBeyond. There is No purchase or download for Foundry VTT, but you will need free Discord, D&DBeyond and Forge VTT accounts. This table plays with the 2014 rules and character options only, 2024 character options may be considered if they don't interact with the old rules badly. Current party (Level 9): - Eladrin Sorcerer - Human Cleric - Elven Wizard - Half-Elf Fighter The party are gearing up to take on Castle Ravenloft soon.

I've had nothing but a good time playing in his games. Yanas does a very good job of keeping games on track and everyone to feel included. I have never used Forge before but seeing it being utilized so well makes me interested in looking into it for personal games. I came into a game late and been enjoying myself a lot. I'm excited to see how the finale of the campaign will go down. Highly recommend if you're looking for a very chill and welcoming Game Master.

How to prepare
🎮 If you don't already, you will need free Discord and D&D Beyond accounts. Nothing needs to be purchased. 🎙️ A good mic and headset are recommended for voice communication on Discord. 🎲 A browser plugin called Beyond20 can be used to send your D&D Beyond rolls to Foundry. 🔉 You will receive a link to the Discord Server beforehand, where you can find the rest of the set-up information. 🧑 Please send me any pictures of your character ahead of time so that tokens can be created. ✍️ A half-page character backstory would be nice, but is not mandatory.
What I provide
🎮 Most character options on D&D Beyond. 🗺️ Premium battle maps and scenes. 🔉 Syrinscape (sound effects) and music subscriptions. 🎲 Minor homebrew aimed to reduce gameplay frustration.
Gameplay details
In Session Zero we will: - Go over some content disclaimers - Go over some of the major gameplay and introductory lore beats - Help with character creation, if needed - Go over character creation rules and assistance if needed - Get familiarized with my instance of Foundry VTT - A practice combat encounter to test your character I am open to receiving lines, veils and cards digitally to my DMs before the game and at any point, and publicly at session zero if you are comfortable with that. I will accept feedback after sessions and you can either let the group know publicly or DM me privately afterwards. Player characters will begin the campaign at Level 1 and use point-buy or standard array for stats. We will be using the 2024 Rules and players handbook for the most part.

How will character creation work
Characters will be created in a campaign on D&D Beyond. The adventure deals with classic gothic horror and an old-school D&D setting, so try to have your character fit the setting as best you can. The party will start at level 1 with point buy and regular starting equipment. We can create characters during the free session zero or sometime before the campaign starts at session one. We will be using the 2024 Rules. To keep things simple, try following the 2024 Player Handbook's character options. Other sources will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
