About the adventure

Long ago a mysterious crystal appeared in the middle of the Kaliri Desert in northern Dracaria. Thousands of travelers discovered this crystal and a city was built around the healing waters of the oasis below the crystal. This city was named Sol'Shara. This epic fantasy has players diving into ancient ruins, battling sand pirates, or political intrigue. As a sandbox adventure, every choice the players make will affect the region and what conflicts arise.

About me

I have been playing D&D and other Table Top RPGs for over 20 years. I have been writing a campaign setting for a few years now and I want to test out my expansive world on players like you! I run an immersive game using sound effects and voice acting to bring the world to life. I like to play a game that is rich with lore, spanning over hundreds if not thousands of in-game years. I have a bachelor's degree in Game Art & Design and use my own art assets when I can, as well as custom maps I created myself with Inkarnate. Feel free to contact me on discord: .christoth if you have any questions.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be starting at level 1. Stats will be rolled 4d6 drop the lowest or point buy system. All Wizards of the Coast content is allowed, however One D&D is not as I am not well versed in this content yet. I have home brew rules that will be covered in session zero. I will provide a campaign setting primer that will have players creating their backstories for more immersive gameplay. I will be taking backstories into account when creating side quests. These are your stories, so I will write each character a story arch that fits what their individual hopes and goals are. Let's make something epic!

The current party

Currently, the players are level 11 and exploring the hidden depths below the city. A sprawling ancient civilization of lizard folk are thriving deep below Sol'Shara, but a plot to destroy the city and it's inhabitants has just begun. The heroes must save Iskaara from annihilation before the caves crumbles from below Sol'Shara. With a race against time, these heroes will face untold dangers from the Shadow Realm. Undead, Constructs, and other vile creatures await in the halfway point of Shards of Sunlight!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Must have a mic, accounts on Roll20 and Discord, and have your character as complete as you can. Each player will need at least a basic backstory that relates to the world or at least a general theme for the character.

What Chris brings to the table

All games are played on Roll20 and a voice server on Discord. This gives players the opportunity to keep notes or chat about game in and out of a session. I do everything from providing custom maps and tokens, music and sound effects, and voice acting. I try to make each game as immersive as possible.

How Chris creates a safe table

Players can expect fast paced combat with lighthearted roleplaying. I have an open door policy that allows players to send me a message privately or speak openly with the group at no risk of ban or penalty. Not all content will have adult themes, but it's D&D so the risk is there. My content doesn't typically get too graphic, but I have limited control over what players do or say, so each situation will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Any behavior that is against the Startplaying.games terms of service, will be banned. As always, this game is open to all walks of life and I am here for any questions or concerns.
