About the adventure

Dare You Descend into the Sorcerous Gloom? Once a fortress where wizards honed their eldritch craft, the Scarlet Citadel now holds a sinister reputation—and for good reason. Few have returned from their journeys below. Now, malevolent creatures spin shadowy webs, enchant foul magics, and summon forth dark gods. But for those brave enough, ancient treasures and secrets still lie scattered everywhere. If you love D&D and would like to play some new races, try some new spells, see some new creatures, and find different magic, we'd love to have you along. ABOUT THE GAME Weekly 3-hour sessions hosted on Roll20. Audio on Discord. Experienced or new players welcome. Campaign will take characters from Level 1 to Level 10. How to prepare

Computer and Internet required. High speed internet will make for a more enjoyable experience. Mic and headphones required (speakers cause echo). Set up free accounts on Roll20 and Discord. Recommend Chrome or Firefox browser for Roll20. Install Discord app on computer. Join Ajax D&D server. Install Beyond20 app in browser if using D&D Beyond character sheet. After Session 0 or your 1-on-1 with Ajax DM, choose the Launch button on the Roll20 game landing page to get into the game before game day, and follow the Game Prep directions to make a character. Guidelines for character creation are on the Roll20 game landing page, in the Forum. Add the character portrait and a round token to your character sheet, or send round token image to Ajax DM (or select one from Ajax DM collection). If you require a familiar or Wild Shape forms or Summon creatures, please alert Ajax DM well before the game.

How will character creation work

Please wait to make a character until we've had time to connect in a Session 0, where you'll learn about the environment you'll be in, the makeup of the party and have your questions answered. If you join after the group's Session 0, please set up a separate session with the DM. Then you can build your character in Roll20 (+ D&D Beyond if desired) using the Charactermancer, before the game. Characters will enter at the same level as the rest of the party. Let me know if you'd like a custom made character, to make it easy to start. Characters should get along with others. There are no evil characters, "neutral" characters that are veiled evil characters, no emo loners who don't trust others. Please read the Character Guidelines and Sourcebooks listed in the Forum on the Roll20 game landing page. Launch Roll20 game from the Roll20 game landing page. If you want to make a character, roll for stats in chat (see pinned message in Resources channel in Discord for an easy way to roll). You may opt for Standard Array if you dislike your rolls. If using D&D Beyond character sheet, you still need to roll for and use ability score rolls from Roll20 chat. Fill in physical description and personality traits, ideals, bonds and flaws. You are not limited to the selections in the background. Roll 1d12 and 1d100 and let me know what you rolled for a Trinket, which you can work into your backstory for an extra bonus. Include on the BIO page of your character sheet at least 2 paragraphs of backstory with at least one named person in their story.
