About the adventure
"Alice is Missing" is a live, silent, text-based mystery game with a 90-minute play timer. The Alice in the title is a high school junior who's gone missing at the start of winter break; your characters are working together to find her... but everyone also has a secret. This session will be geared toward new players and will include a safety portion prior to gameplay. We'll be using the Pixel Table integration for in game messaging, with Discord text channels to support safety, game prep, and debriefing. This will be the base game, not the optional expansion. Note: Alice Is Missing typically involves recording voicemails to Alice at the beginning of the session. We'll instead be composing text messages.

How to prepare
Players will need: -to promptly join the Discord server -the ability to use Discord text chats -to promptly fill out the safety form for Lines and Veils -a free Pixel Table account -a willingness to participate in improvisational roleplay
What I provide
I will be hosting the game via a private Discord channel and the new Pixel Table integration. As the facilitator, I'll help you navigate both the rules of Alice is Missing and the new Pixel Table interface. I'll also be using my in-game role to encourage roleplay and plot progression. The Pixel Table interface includes background music with adjustable volume (meaning it can be muted if desired).
Gameplay details
I have a survey to anonymously collect lines and veils when players sign up. Before the game, we'll go over safety information, including the aggregated lines and veils. During the session, X/N/O cards can be played in the in-game chat, in Discord, or via a direct message to me. For open door, players can leave anytime for any reason, though I do prefer a heads up. After the session we'll have a debriefing to discuss the provided post-game questions.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be handled at the start of the session. I'll have info available in the Discord ahead of time, but given the limited number of characters players may need to discuss their choices with each other either ahead of time or at the beginning of the session.
