How to prepare

You will need: * computer/device with internet access * (free) Discord account to access the voice chat * a clear microphone and either push to talk enabled or have your settings enabled so that the rest of the group can't hear any disruptive background noise. * You may want to review the rules beforehand. Don't have the rulebooks? That's ok! I've spent many hours building a comprehensive compendium with a guidebook for my players right in Foundry. Let me know that you're new to the game, and I'll happily help you get up to speed.

What I provide

As your Overseer, I strive to create an immersive and engaging experience for all players. Here's what you can expect from our adventures in the wasteland: Virtual Tabletop Setup: I will host the game on Foundry. I've built a comprehensive compendium including content from the core rulebook as well as the Settler's and Wanderer's Guidebooks, and written a custom guide for my players. Multimedia Immersion: I'll provide ambient sounds, music, and some beautifully rendered visual graphics with animated weather effects to help bring the wasteland to life. Character Support: From assistance with character creation to providing character sheets and resources, I'm here to help you bring your wasteland survivor to life. Whether you're a seasoned RPG veteran or new to the tabletop scene, I'll make sure you have everything you need to dive into the adventure. Narrative Focus: While there will be plenty of combat, the heart of our game lies in storytelling and roleplaying. I will provide opportunities for players to explore the wasteland, engage in meaningful roleplay with voice acted NPCs, and make decisions that shape the living world. Above all, I aim to create a collaborative and enjoyable gaming experience where everyone has the opportunity to shine. Safety Tools: Before embarking on your journey through the wasteland, it's important to establish a safe and welcoming environment for all players. "Wasteland Chronicles" utilizes several safety tools to ensure a positive and inclusive gaming experience: Session 0: Prior to starting the game, players will participate in a session 0 where expectations, boundaries, and any sensitive topics are discussed openly and respectfully. This allows everyone to feel comfortable and ensures that the game remains enjoyable for all participants. Open Door Policy: Throughout the campaign, players are encouraged to communicate openly with the game master and fellow players if they ever feel uncomfortable or need to take a break. The open door policy ensures that everyone's well-being is prioritized, and no one feels pressured to continue if they're not enjoying the game. Debriefing: After each gaming session, a brief debriefing is conducted to check in with players and address any concerns or issues that may have arisen during gameplay. This allows for constructive feedback and helps maintain a positive and supportive gaming atmosphere.

How will character creation work

Character creation will take place during session 0, or before the first session if you are unable to attend session 0. The process should only take a few minutes to complete. We will use the rules outlined in the Core rulebook and any relevant supplements. I have made this information available in Foundry for my players with additional notes about our setting in the Journal section. ("How to Play") Characters will begin at level 1, unless they are transferring from another "Wasteland Chronicles" game. Players have access to the Core rulebook and all supplements for character creation. Feel free to reference these resources to create your ideal wasteland survivor. I have added all of the additional origins, perks, etc. to my Foundry compendium to make this super easy!
