Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Citizens of the free city of Zobeck are going missing! Catacombs beneath the streets may provide answers, but what lurks in them may not enjoy company…Who will uncover and stop the foul and ghoulish workings? Will your adventurers have the fortitude and ambition—or the greed and cunning—it takes to put a stop to them? This is a beginner friendly (no previous experience required) introductory campaign to Dungeons and Dragons. As the Game Master I will teach you and guide your hand into tabletop roleplaying as we tackle this campaign together!

Absolutely enjoyable campaign experience. Dm Dan has thought of everything that makes his campaign as close to a movie as possible. Amazing voice acting, great maps/visuals, patience and informative to new players, and embraces player choice, no matter how chaotic. I genuinely can’t say enough good things about him.

Dan is a good egg. When we first started playing I had no real knowledge of D&D outside of that one episode of Community and the original Baldur's Gate. I'd never even touched a 20-sided dice. He's incredibly patient, taking the time to take us step-by-step through character creation, the pros and cons of the various different classes, and talking us through our first-ever combat encounter so we knew how everything worked - Fast forward a couple of years, and we're taking down Vecna with a kaiju'd werewolf. Our party has ballooned in size from three to seven (schedules permitting!), and Dan has always been able to adapt the scenario to challenge us, or to give a particular player chance to utilise their character's skills, and help them discover what they're truly capable of. (We've also been testing his ability to adapt recently, since he had to try and figure out a way of continuing a quest after the accidental death of a mission-critical NPC..!) Even though we all play over the internet (we've only actually met in real life once!), Dan uses a plethora of additional tools to make it *feel* like an involved tabletop experience - our video chat is augmented with virtual table top software, soundscape audio, and a voice modulator for when we stumble into the depths of hell. Dan's always willing to grow his own knowledge of the ruleset, so if you ever want to explore any experimental subclasses, or homebrew something specific, he's more than happy to give it a crack and see how it plays. In short, Dan's everything you need from a DM. He's hands-off when we're trying to figure out a puzzle, hands-on when we're struggling with what our moves actually do, and he's always willing to talk things through in a private sidebar if anything's a bit overwhelming or confusing.

Great for beginners if you don't understand, Dan will explain it to you and is really patient with you. Love his story telling and his voices too for the game.

Dan creates a wonderful and immersive journey, but ultimately his games are a whole lot of fun. He creates a safe and friendly atmosphere to allow players to really get involved with their character and forget about the real world for a while. His use of the rule of cool often equates to some crazy twists and turns that leave players crying with laughter or in stunned silence. I highly recommend going on an adventure with him

How to prepare

As a player you should: - Create a Discord account. - Access to a computer as FoundryVTT cannot be ran off of mobile devices. - A microphone with decent enough quality to be audible during the game and a webcam would be advantageous. - I would advise that you acquire DnDBeyond to manage your character sheet. However, feel free to go old school and use Pen & Paper. Note: This is designed to be a introductory campaign to DnD so knowing the rules is not necessary. However, an understanding of the game and basic mechanics would be advantageous.

What I provide

As the Dungeon Master for this campaign, I will: - Bring my knowledge of the material. - A relaxed gaming style with an emphasis on player experience - An immersive experience. - Ensure that the environment is safe & inclusive to allow for creative expression. From our game, you can expect: - A dedicated Discord server - Curated playlists - Access to Foundry VTT (Our Virtual Tabletop).

How will character creation work

Session 0: - The campaign will include a Session 0. - The Session 0 will cover how the sessions will be ran and give you a flavour of the story ahead. This will also be a perfect time to start your character build OR ask any questions about your character prior to Session 1. Session 1: - My expectation for Session 1 is that you have: - A completed character sheet. - 3 bullet points with some brief details on your character. This helps to structure side quests later down that are personal to you! Note: If you are struggling with your character build in anyway in between Session 0 and Session 1. Feel free to reach out to me on StartPlaying or the Discord and I will help you as much as I can.
