I am brand new to werewolf, and James was a wonderful first step into this world even as i was a last minut player but the character that was made was immediately involved in the game. He is kind, Very helpful, and a wonderful storyteller that knows how to bring life into both the game and his players.
I am brand new to werewolf, and James was a wonderful first step into this world. He is kind, Very helpful, and a wonderful storyteller that knows how to bring life into both the game and his players. my time with him has been short has some of the best time at a ttrpg table i have had.
I feel that playing with James may have set my standards a bit too high for others when it comes to the storytelling and depth of characters in a setting. From our first conversations together he helped me not only incorporate the character that I wanted to play into the world, but also encouraged me to think deeper about who I would be playing as, and flesh out details I otherwise wouldn't have thought about. His world is story rich, and our group chats after a session finishes are usually full of insight on npc thoughts or other "behind the scenes" discussions that really help me to appreciate the amount of care that James puts into his games.

How to prepare
I will be using two platforms for this Call of Cthulhu game, discord for voice/messages and foundry for dice rolls/character sheets. Equipment-wise players are expected to bring a desktop computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and a working microphone. Voice chat and the majority of text messages will be done through a discord server, I will provide the invitation link to the server when players after join the game. It is preferred that players have a noise free environment or set push to talk when there is much background noise. Players will need an account for Foundry VTT and a PC that can meet the requirements to run the software. As a player you do not need to own the Investigators Handbook but it is recommended. This can be purchased from either Amazon, Drive Thru RPG, or Chaosium's website directly.
What I provide
Hello, my name is James Tate. I have been pro-game mastering for well over a year and by no means am a stranger to Call of Cthulhu. Cthulhu was one of the first roleplaying games that I discovered in my formative years and has always held a special place in my heart. I would describe the game as simple to learn but difficult to master because horror, especially of the Lovecraftian variety, is often difficult to translate to the tabletop medium as it relies upon setting the correct tone and evoking mood. Through years of toil, I have become a professional, and my hope is to give new and old players an appreciation for this game. Feel free to send me a private message any time. I am always eager to respond.
Gameplay details
During our free session zero, we will meet to make the investigators and discuss the campaign as well as content warnings. After everyone arrives we will jump immediately into the game, often opening to a scene picking up where the last one ended or cutting to the most crucial next scene. Typically, we will have a singular 5-10 minute break in the middle of the session or when it is most dramatic. Feedback and communication are essential to any successful game, and so I always will factor in time for stars and wishes toward the end of the session.

How will character creation work
Once we have at least three or four investigators, I will announce a free session zero that will be held at the time of our regularly scheduled game time. Everyone will be create their investigators together as a group during the free session zero. This will allow for optimum narrative as well as mechanical cohesion. Each of these four scenarios assume the investigators should be in their early twenties to mid thirties and attending college so they should choose occupations of a more academic or hobbyist variety as opposed to something more blue collar. If possible, I attempt to tie the investigators backstory in with the investigation to form emot
