Wardens of Wildwood | Beginner Friendly | Variant Rules

Pathfinder 2e | Campaign

About the adventure

As the fledgling nation of Taldor grew over millennia, it picked away at the surrounding wilderness, felling valuable trees while riling the beasts, fey, and other inhabitants into generations of cyclical violence. Only millennia later did Taldor and the forest’s eminent druids of the Wildwood Lodge negotiate lasting peace with the Treaty of the Wildwood. Even so, the forest remains a realm besieged by civilization. As forest-dwellers gather for the annual Greenwood Gala, the election of Lodge leadership, and the renewal of the treaty, there’s an opportunity to resolve old grudges—and as much potential to spark war. Arriving initially as guests, you soon find yourselves at the center of a brand new conspiracy as the Greenwood Gala is beset by enemies and saboteurs. Through wit, cunning, and raw strength, your job is to cut through to the heart of the problem, and ensure that a new war does not engulf Avistan!

How to prepare

Players will need access to Discord, internet, and a functioning microphone. Sessions will take place in a discord voice call, and will also utilize the in-server chatbox in Foundry to communicate. Cameras are entirely optional.

What I provide

I will provide a full discord server for the campaign, as well as a fleshed out gaming experience using the wealth of tools provided by Foundry VTT. A number of additional modules will be used to enhance player experience. Additionally, I can provide AI generated character artwork for players who do not have an image they are happy with for their character to use. I will also be recording sessions for uploading to youtube over the course of the campaign.

Gameplay details

All players are welcome at my table, regardless of experience level! Session 0 will go over peoples' lines and veils, and an open dialogue will be kept throughout gameplay. My goal is to ensure that players always feel comfortable in my games, and know that they can come speak with me if they have a problem or something they need to discuss.

How will character creation work

Character creation will occur before the first session, typically through Pathbuilder or Foundry VTT. Characters will be built at level 5, and practically all ancestries, backgrounds, and classes are available for use! The player's guide (linked below), has recommendations for what will fit the setting best, but build a character you will have fun with and enjoy running! For any uncommon or rare character choices, I ask that they be run by me first, but most of the time they will be accepted! In addition to a character backstory, I typically ask that each player come up with at least 2 additional npc's that they know, simply a name, ancestry, and a paragraph or so of how your character knows them if perfect, as it helps flesh out the world and make your characters feel more like members of the community rather than outsiders. The following variant rules will also be in play, with a small caveat: Free Archetype and Ancestry Paragon. I ask that players do not take multiclass dedications, and instead look for another archetype that can fit the theme and build of your character! I would prefer that reasons be related to the story of your character, as opposed to taking specific abilities solely to make your character more powerful.
