About the adventure

Vecna, the God of Secrets, seeks to remake the multiverse in his own image and at his own design. Stealing the secrets of mortals to power his monstrous ritual, it is up to a group of heroes, chosen by fate, to race against the clock to stop him. Bouncing around the multiverse from setting to setting, seeking after a fabled artifact is just part of the fun of this multiverse taster where you will literally face gods, converse with legends, and encounter some of the most dangerous beings in D&D.

About me

Hey folks. If you’re reading this, then you’re probably considering me as your next dungeon master. I really appreciate your consideration, and I’ll try to make this worth your while. So, without further ado, I'm Timothy. And yes. Some people DO call me Tim. I’ve been playing D&D through the various editions for 25 years or so, and have been the DM for most of that. My greatest accomplishment is hooking my extended family, which has netted me the job of DMing for 7 family members on at least a weekly basis for the last few years. I’ve DMed for everyone from newcomers and eight year olds (both mentally and literally) all the way to crotchety old veterans. I spend far too much of my down time worrying about how I can make my game better. Frankly, I am obsessed with chasing that perfect session where everyone goes home and raves about it for years. I’m a bit of a rules encyclopedia, though I’m not afraid to admit I’m fallible. I’m willing to stretch things and say “yes, and...” in the name of a good story, and also willing to say “no, but...” to further that same goal. I encourage role play over roll play, but don't force people out of their comfort zones. I love to tie backgrounds and PC interests into the main storyline, or scrap the main storyline in favor of the pc’s. I believe that if you're paying for a DM, you're paying for a professional. To me, that means you can expect me to ACT professionally, even when we're having fun. You won't hear me cuss, gripe and complain about other players, and I'll generally treat you like the valuable customer you really are. If you’re looking for a DM who will customize the game to your tastes and truly care that you walk away satisfied week after week, I’m the guy you’re looking for.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters are created on D&D Beyond with all books shared by me at 10th level. Session 0 will determine our final rules preferences, but we will be using the 2024 ruleset primarily, with minimal homebrew or third party content and a strong preference for 2024 era material.

The current party

Join our Oathbreaker Paladin, Soulknife Rogue, Twilight Cleric/Ranger, Lore Bard, and Cavalier Fighter as they battle towards Vecna at level 16.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A working microphone and Discord access are absolutely required. Foundry only needs a modern browser to function in addition to that. Having video turned on is completely optional, though always recommended for an improved experience. Characters will need to be created and submitted for approval prior to game.

What Timothy brings to the table

I provide access to all content on D&D Beyond, and utilize Foundry VTT to run our games. Syrinscape is our currently preferred source of ambient music and noise. I run a fairly RAW game, with few house rules, but lean into moments of "Rule of Cool" when they are appropriate. I do my best to match my DMing style to the desires of my players.

Safety

How Timothy creates a safe table

After Session 0, any issues of content are primarily handled by simply letting me know there's a problem. I will go out of my way to ensure that you are comfortable within the game and at the table. Your enjoyment is paramount.
