About the adventure

In the world of Ixalan, there are humans that are accompanied by dinosaurs, vampires that look for power, nomadic merfolk that protect the land and pirates that seek out great treasures. They all are very different and at times are enemies to one another, but all have one thing in common and that is to look for the city of Orazca and the Immortal Sun, which have been lost for years. Three years ago, a group of unknown adventurers were able to find the city, but due to mysterious reasons they were unable to obtain the Immortal Sun and both were once again lost. Now that the four cultures know that it's truly out there, the search for the city has gotten more intense. Because of this, new creatures have awakened and someone now summons a group of adventurers from across the world to help find the Immortal Sun. This campaign mostly follows the lore of Ixalan from the MTG setting, however changes have been made for others to enjoy a new take of this world and no prior knowledge is needed of Ixalan to be able to play. This is a world with dense jungles filled with dinosaurs, open waters that contain mysterious creatures, dark caves with potential treasures and horrors that roam the land at night. It is a place filled with potential adventures, from sailing in the dangerous waters to exploring the jungle, climbing the top of mountains to dwelling into deep caves. What will your adventure tell?

About me

Hello, you can call me Random. I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about a year and a half, started playing virtually and have met some amazing people thanks to it. I really enjoy telling a story and have been a fan of the Fantasy genre as far as I can remember. I am still very new to being a DM but I wanted to give this a try. If you have any questions, please reach out and I will do my best to answer them as best as possible. Thank you very much for reading this and I hope you have a good day. Take care.

Although new to DMing, Random seems like a seasoned pro. He immediately hooked us in during the first session with some excellent roleplaying and storytelling, and these narrative elements have continued to be central pillars in all of our sessions. It doesn't just feel like we are playing a game; it feels like we are immersed in an epic tale. He takes Session Zero and in-between session prep work seriously, providing ample and critical input to create truly three-dimensional characters.

Just wrapped up my first session with Random, and it was an incredible experience! The storytelling was immersive and creative, and they did a fantastic job encouraging everyone to dive into their characters and really roleplay. The group dynamic was also top-notch—every player contributed to the fun, making it an all-around enjoyable session. If you're looking for a DM who brings energy, creativity, and a welcoming atmosphere to the table, I highly recommend Random!

Character creation
Creating your character

Characters will start at 3rd level and those who join later will start at whatever level the party is currently. The campaign will go all the way to 20th level, with time for you to enjoy your 20th level abilities. House Rules will be discussed during Session Zero but we will schedule a time for character creation to be done in private after Session Zero. Standard array will be used to determine the Ability Scores for the characters, them being 17, 15, 13, 12, 10, and 8. Multiclassing and the optional features from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything are allowed. Characters will also get an Ability Score Improvement or a Feat at 1st level. The common races of Ixalan are Humans, Merfolk (Triton/Sea Elf), Vampires (Dhampir), Orcs, Half-Orcs, Goblins and Sirens (Aarakocra/Owlin). However, I will be adding Elementals (Genasi/Eladrin), Reborn and Golems (Warforge).

The current party

Current Party: - Cleric of the Legion of Dusk - Fighter of the River Heralds - Barbarian/Blood Hunter of the Brazen Coalition - Sorcerer of the Brazen Coalition - Rogue/Fighter of the Brazen Coalition

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Players will need a decent mic, stable internet connection, a Roll 20, D&D Beyond and Discord account.

What Random brings to the table

Content sharing for D&D Beyond, Maps, Tokens, images to help visualize what I am describing and a safe space for everyone. I will not tolerate any bullying or degrading to others.

Safety
How Random creates a safe table

We will go over the rules, information about the setting and Lines and Veils during Session Zero as well as during character creation, which will be done in private. If there is something that makes you uncomfortable during the game or after, please let me know. It can be in private or during the game, please do not be afraid to let me know. Players can expect combat to be frequent but might not happen every session, light on the rules of the game and mostly be focused on Roleplay. At the beginning portions of the game, characters will be leveling up fast and will slow down the further we are in the story.
