About the adventure

Welcome to the Alien RPG, a harsh and unforgiving universe full of corruption, retro-futuristic sci-fi, and body horror. You are nothing if not expendable. The Draconis Saga is a cinematic campaign comprised of three scenarios: 1. Chariot of the Gods Play as space truckers on the USCSS Montero on a routine supply mission goes very wrong, turning into a thrilling, terror-filled ride into deep space. (2-3 sessions) 2. Destroyer of Worlds. Take on the roles of Colonial Marines and run a gauntlet of one hell after another. (~3 sessions) 3. Heart of Darkness. A spiraling descent into soul-crushing madness aboard a science station orbiting a black hole. (~3 sessions) --- Sessions are 3-4 hours each. Including session zero, the entire campaign should comprise about 10 sessions. Each scenario is written for 3-5 players and comes with its own pre-generated characters (sometimes multiple!). I'll publish a roster of PCs for players to choose from before each scenario. Alien: The Roleplaying Game is the official Alien RPG published by Free League/Fria Liga Publishing.

How to prepare

You will need to have a working microphone, and (free) accounts on both Discord (to access the text/voice chat server) and Forge (to access the Foundry VTT server). New players are welcome, but I would suggest reading through the Starter Set rules, which can be accessed in Foundry. The Year Zero Engine SRD on which the Alien RPG is based is also available online for free on the Free League website. I can provide other resources on request.

What I provide

We'll use Foundry VTT to play (via Forge), and Discord for text/voice chat. Both of these require *free* accounts for players prior to play. I have the official modules for these games installed in Foundry, so all maps, tokens, character sheets, handouts, etc will come from there. I'll supplement when/where needed. Ambient music/sound effects will run through Foundry as well. As a DM, I like to stick to the rules, but also love the flexibility this system provides. I want players to think outside the box, but using the tools that they're given. Working within constraints is part of what makes role-playing so fun, but the most memorable moments at a table are not regarding rules. The scenarios in this campaign are pretty action packed, but spreading them out over multiple sessions also allows for a fair amount of role-playing time. I hope to help make the pace feel tense, but never have the players feeling rushed. I am loathe to stop good roleplaying, but it is also part of my role to make sure things moving along, as well as keeping everyone involved.

How will character creation work
