About the adventure
Everyone knows the story of Strahd-- an arrogant noble turned bloodthirsty tyrant gains immortality and chases after an unrequited love. A group of adventurers found their way into his realm, Barovia, some time ago, and they lost their fight, as did so many that came before and those that came after. Souls that are lost in Barovia never find their way out of Barovia it seems. And for this group of adventurers, when they find themselves corporeal once more, their surroundings-- while they share some similarities to the mist covered villages they'd seen before-- have changed. They're colder with no chances of the sun piercing through clouds, more claustrophobic as the mists are replaced by large metal windowless walls rising into the darkness where maybe they merge at the top roofing them in, and it is louder with echoing alleys and narrow hallways. It is up to them to figure out and remember who they are/were, where they are now, and how in the world they ever got here. Soulless Nebulas is a campaign of intrigue and focuses highly on roleplay and solving mysteries; there's also some monster of the week elements to it, where players get an opportunity to show off some of their combat skills as well.

About me
Two things to me that make a great community are food and stories, which are both brought and shared at a table. At my table, I want your hunger for curiosity and creativity to be satiated. My tables are also safe places, where all sorts of ideas are welcome. I want everyone to walk away feeling heard. However, I do not tolerate bigotry and prejudice at my table; any and all BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, Disabled/Chronically Ill, and Neurodivergent folx are welcome and encouraged at my table. Different and new perspectives bring rich stories. With a decade of TTRPG experience, over half that time in the GM's seat now, I consider myself to be a teacher and a student, willing to guide and willing to learn. My favorite systems are Monster of the Week, and I'm a big fan of running Play by Post games. I'm a Virgo/Libra cusp, a Trekkie, and have a dog and two cats.

Creating your character
For this campaign, we will have a Session Zero, during which we will go over Character Creation. We will be starting at Level One, and any WOTC content is preapproved. If players would like to use Homebrew it can be discussed with the DM to ensure balance and a place in this campaign. I'm wanting to run Character Creation together, as the story will start with the characters already knowing one another.
We currently have a Sorcerer, Monk, Cleric, and Fighter.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
For this game, please have a webcam and mic; it makes communication easier. There will be time prior to session where we can test for any AudioVisual issues. It will help to know a general basis of D&D, but being a Rule Of Cool DM we can definitely be a little more flexible here and there. It also helps to have a general idea of what you wanna do with a character and who they are, why they do what they do.
What Urvy brings to the table
This campaign is going to be run via Theatre of the Mind, though occasionally art may be provided to help with immersion. During sessions, players can expect detailed descriptions about their surroundings, accompanied with ambient music. When roleplaying, I do my best to give everyone their own devoted voices and personalities. Overall, my games are run with a Rool of Cule stance!
Homebrew rules
I am flexible to discussing Homebrew Rules during Session Zero or at other times pre/post session as a group.

How Urvy creates a safe table
At the start of the campaign, players will fill out a Consent Checklist, which can/will be discussed between player and DM to make sure that everyone is comfortable at the table. X/N/O cards (or a variation of such) will be available during session too for transparent communication and accountability. Also important to note is that there's always an Open Door from me.
