The beginning is a very delicate time... The game creation for Dune is a little more involved then many other games. As part of the game set up, in addition to creating the characters, the group gets to create their House, and their home world. Also I use a collaborative method to create and flesh out some major NPCs and plots. This game is based on the Agents of Dune campaign, as such it is Diplomacy, intrigue and conflict heavy. Think of it like much like Game of Thrones in space.

    About the adventure

The beginning is a very delicate time. Know then that it is the year 10181. The Great Spice War is over but the results still echo in the halls of power. At the behest of the 81st Padishah Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV and the Guild of Navigators, House Harkonnen, the current Siridar of Arrakis, has extended invitations to five independent houses of the Landsraad. Each has been offered a spice harvesting franchise under the governance of House Harkonnen. While it is clear to many in the Landsraad that the Emperor and the Guild seek to diminish Harkonnen influence, many question the ease with which the Harkonnens acquiesced to this arrangement. To ensure a smooth transition, Emperor Shaddam has mandated that the Harkonnens train the representatives from the selected houses so that they can be trusted with spice harvesting operations. For the Harkonnen’s part a few minor franchises are agreeable as it is a clear opportunity to free up resources while still collecting a substantial tax tithe. However, for your House, the allocation is substantial, hinting at the possibility of dark intentions and the plots of hidden enemies to discredit and displace your House, allowing the Harkonnen to reclaim Arrakis' spice production for themselves. Though lucrative, control over the spice mining pales in comparison to Arrakis' governance, a prize the Harkonnens refuse to relinquish, but the Harkonnen are not ones to let any power or wealth slip from their grasp… A special report from the Spacing Guild https://youtu.be/HFPtfqkWf_0

    Additional Details

    How to prepare

Probably will not be using video, but access to Discord and a good mic are mostly likely to be needed. Also it is possible that access to a moderately good computer will be required as I tend to enhance my games with details that maybe a bit much for lesser machines. If needed we can discuss this before play and make sure things work. As a tablet should technically be enough it is doubtful this will be an issue. I can likely adjust if it is.

    What I provide

I'll pretty much provide everything needed to play. I'll host the game on my foundry server, provide access to the needed books and character resources.

    Gameplay details

In session zero we ill be building out the players great house and surrounding world details. During this process I'll cover what players can expect from the story and setting and discuss their limits with some of Dunes more provoking concepts.

    How will character creation work

Character creation will be done collaboratively during session zero for the most part using the rules directly from the Dune: Adventures in the Imperium. However there are few modifications and minor restrictions added to allow for better synchronization with the Campaign setting.
