Changes: Mysteries of Enhios, The War of Ashes

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

This campaign offers exciting new content and new opponents that you haven't encountered before. Regardless if you are new or an experienced player, you will learn to handle yourself in this dangerous world full of intrigues, monsters and mysteries to be unfold. To see the custom content, look no further than here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1W7P8I_uDMzhNKFtNL1IiQdOe1-IHvzMS?ths=true The ruleset is fully made by me and is still unfinished, however it is a project of passion, with every bit of the content created by me (and more to come!) War of the Ashes "It's the year 1620. An impenetrable fog shadows the continent of Enhios for almost a decade. After the sun turned dark, a merciless endless winter began. Plagues, droughts and famines brought death and the despair over the population of the Holy Empire of Halwaria. It's people are helpless, not being able to rely on the guidance of their spirits, which had protected them for centuries. Monsters and bandits roam the countryside, while conflicts erupt among the various factions, sparked by the fear of doom that was brought upon the lands. Among the noble houses of the empire, Queen Visenia of Brokwals, regent of southeastern Aunrath, seeks to bring to order and force those who have fallen from the unifying church of Angwar. Boasting large territories in the empire, she wants to appoint her son as the heir to the throne and cleanse the heresy in its core. The empire is a dark place now, where hope is little and life is uncertain. There is, however, still an order that vows to protect the people of the empire, regardless of their beliefs and origin. The knights of Belotraine, the most honorable warriors, are still holding the light of humanity to guide those in need.  This is where your story starts. You are a member of a respected society with a presence throughout the Halwarian empire. Having acquired skills that help you in battle, you are trained to accomplish and resolve tasks, that would be impossible by a simple man. Your background and alignment is irrelevant, as long as you serve your order well and accept contracts to help those who are in need of help. That is to say, your actions will not go unrewarded, as both you and the organization needs to sustain itself. Every member of the order must contribute an equal share to each contract, which will then be provided to your headmaster. With each honorable deed, you will rise in your ranks, becoming a more valuable asset. These are noticeable as "notches" or "rings", signs to proof your rank and your worth within the organisation. Will you be ready to take upon your task?"

Gameplay details

By nature, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable in my games. I have played many settings before - even those that may be a little bit touchy and usually avoid detailing certain things that may make my players uncomfortable and may not be necessary to point out. I consider myself very sensitive with the people I engage, but am very aware that some topics might be a little hard to handle - specially if your own wellbeing might be conflicted with it. This setting has of course potential to become a dark, as the name and general feeling may indicate. Consider reading through the tags, before fully committing to it. :)

How will character creation work

Since this game has a small preparation time, we will create the characters together. Usually, I enjoy to have a single or two player session 0 with me, so they can get comfortable with their character and I can go deeper into the personal stories of each player. - Stats will be decided via standard Stat array. You can swap one +1 fixed stat with any stat you like. - Each player starts at 2nd level. - It is highly suggested to use the race and class option of the homebrew ruleset, but I can help and individualize certain content if you feel there is something missing! - We will continue to use backgrounds from the 5e ruleset.
