About the adventure
The clanfire burns as the star-shaman sings the song of the birth of the world. The light of the flames dances across your armor of bone and the stone-tip of your spear. The words of the song ring in your ears of the coming of the Brood, those nightmare wyrms who would threaten this newborn world, *your* newborn world. All that awaits beyond the fire is the darkness of the unknown, of the untraversed territory that clan maps mark only as "Death." Take up shield and spear, brothers and sisters of the tribes, and plunge them into the depths of the dragons' hearts. 🪨Witness the World's Rise: Play D&D like you surely never have before in a setting based on the Stone Age. No metal arms or armor, no writing, no tools. Experience a brand new world! 🪨 🤯 A Wealth of Choices: 7 new classes, 19 new species, 100s of new spells. Play the hero you want to play. 🤯 📕 Make History: Make a direct impact on the story of the world. Legends have yet to be written; will yours be the first? 📕 😎 Weave the Tale: Play with a narrative DM who focuses on cinematic combat encounters and emphasizes the "Rule of Cool." 😎 🦉 A proficient DM experienced in creating stories and characters of many genres. Your character's backstory will greatly affect the narrative of the campaign.🦉

About me
As someone who grew up being read 'The Chronicles of Narnia', I've always been captured by high-fantasy worlds and unique creatures, locations, and magics. When I was a teenager, I found out what roleplay was, simply referred to as 'rp', and I became enthralled with the free-form group writing hobby. Through this entirely free-form imaginative medium, i've crafted hundreds of characters, vast worlds, and intricate stories. Some time in my late teens I had of course heard and seen enough of this legendary nerd game, Dungeons and Dragons, and I wanted to dip my toes. I knew nothing, and wanted to have fun. So we did. I made up some huge plot, had my friends make characters similar to my experience in the rp world, and I had them roll whenever I felt it was necessary. They didnt have specific abilities to use mechanically, bosses did whatever I felt was right, and it was the most rules-light game you could imagine. But that got me hooked, and I watched as much DnD content as I possibly could going forward. Recently, i've gained the confidence to run more games, this time with rulings and setup and preparation and laughter and heartbreak! Im ready to give my players an experience worth telling the world about, and I sure hope you'll join me for it! I do swear, I apologize if that's a dealbreaker for anyone.

Creating your character
Players are more than welcome to begin character creation as soon as they join the game, but we will go over characters and additional details in session 0. Characters will be starting at level 1, and they may be anything officially produced by WOTC with a few exceptions to fit the setting, as well as anything available within the Shard character creator. Anything not on Shard will need to be added before it can be selected, so please let me know in advance or session 0 might get a little bogged down. Players will get all additional information needed before session 0 starts so they can look it over, but choices need not be finalized until then.
Play will be on Sundays at 12:30 PM EST. We are currently level 8 with a party split between martials and spellcasters, leaning melee however!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a discord account, a microphone, and a Shard.com account. We will use discord for voice and Shard for actual gameplay.
What Sebastian Dircks brings to the table
I will be hosting sessions on Shard VTT, with music ambiance in important scenes, custom scenes, maps, and tokens. All of the content available on Shard is fully accessible for free users, and I can personally homebrew in any WOTC that any player would like to use. As a GM, I play with the expectation that my players and I are here to have fun, tell some grand or hilarious story, and to do all of that with minimal troubles. Which means I adore the 'Rule of Cool'. If it makes the battle more fun, we can stretch how much movement you have for an attack, or add a small effect to a spell cast. You wanna ride the T-rex and try to get it to bite the bad guy? Sure! Sounds like something you'll tell all your friends about the next day.

How Sebastian Dircks creates a safe table
I will be using the Script Change Support Tool system to navigate things such as the X, N, O card system, and it will be explained along with any other confusing details at session 0. If you miss session 0, we will talk personally about this stuff. At the end of each session we will have some wind-down time where I ask how everyone felt the session went, if theres any unrelieved tension, and then we will go over stars and wishes. Players can expect dynamic combats that often have one-of-a-kind elements or monsters, and can expect social encounters they care about to have impact on their story.
