About the adventure

Elevator Pitch: "Detectives working for the still-young FBI are assigned the weird and wacky cases around Arkham City. They will need far more than their guns and badges to make it through the horrors awaiting them." Trail of Cthulhu brings the horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos into the GUMSHOE investigative ruleset: you are assumed to be competent, and you will always succeed at finding the clue. That won’t save you from the Deep Ones slithering from the black waters onto your boat though. Or from betraying the wrong party as the race for the forbidden artifact concludes. We will be using the Arkham Detective Tales adventure book to begin with, and the free Condensed Rules if you don’t have the book. I will add some of the more popular later additions to the GUMSHOE rules. If things take off I will throw in original content or another module, like Armitage Files or even Eternal Lies! Expect a game of mystery, fear, discovery, and your own mortal frailty. This is not a game of heroic combat, much less amusing notions of victory! At best, delaying the inevitable is the only satisfaction you will have at the end of the soul-wrecking adventure.

How to prepare

Please read the Condensed Rules. Character creation is optional. We will use voice, but not camera.

What I provide

I've almost the whole book line for TOC plus some fan made material. I've also a lot of character and scene art, music, sound effects. I embrace player creativity and always try to include player stories in my games. When in doubt, I always try to rule in favor of the players. I'm relaxed like that!

Gameplay details

We'll go through a Session 0 to cover up all the tricky parts of the Cthulhu Mythos, and relevant social/cultural things. I will ask players privately about their Lines and Veils too, and share mine. Gameplay wise we can expect a party of committed professionals dedicated to the job and to each other. I don't condone antisocial conducts nor 'murder-hoboing'. The VTT will be Alchemy (it's easy, light, free, and ambiance focused). Discord for coordination and OOC.

How will character creation work
